My name is Meredith Lord and I live in Las Vegas, NV. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Professional Child Development from the University of Wyoming and I have 10 years experience in early childhood education. Within those ten years, I have worked in Colorado, Indiana, Washington, and Nevada. I have been a toddler teacher, an infant teacher, a preschool teacher, a child care center administrator, a nanny, an elementary cheerleading coach, and a mentor in the field of early childhood. I currently work at Easter Seals of Southern Nevada as a Child Development Specialist. I have worked with children with and without special needs (although I feel that all children are special and have unique needs), and I have taken special interest in the Reggio and Project Approach curriculums. I will begin my Master’s degree in 2007, and I hope to eventually reach the doctoral level in my education. I write for this column because I enjoy sharing my expertise and experience with parents and other early childhood educators.
