Adding a ticker to your TotSite
TotSites is all about showing off your fun photos, memories etc with friends and family. This does not mean you are *limited* to these items and in fact we encourage you to expand the possibilities.
For example: Pregnancy / Birthday tickers

Tickers are a fun way to add more flare to your forum signatures, emails and you guessed it…. your TotSite!
Adding a ticker to your TotSite is relatively easy but does take a few extra steps.
1) Go ahead and create a ticker of your choice from one of the many ticker sites: lilypie.com, tickercentral.com, tickers.baby-gaga.com, and www.snugglepie.com/tickers.html (if you know of another good ticker site please let us know)
2) Locate the “HTML” code provided once your ticker is generated.
4) Navigate to the “General” page and look for the homepage text box.
5) Click on the
icon.
6) A new window will open where you can paste the HTML code provided in step 2 above.
7) Save the changes in the new window, then save the changes for the “General” page.
Depending on which design you are using you may need to play around with the location of the ticker so it fits well with the design. It might be as simple as adding a couple new lines before or after the ticker. In any case it gives you the opportunity to add fun new elements to your site while adding a personal touch.
Have fun!

Another great ticker site it
http://www.snugglepie.com/tickers.html
They have several different kinds of tickers such as, pregnancy, breast-feeding, wedding, birthday and holidays.
Very cute site! You should add it on your site as well!
Thanks!

Hello Jodi,
In some cases the width and height details are left out or removed for the ticker. Without this information the toolbar will try to guess the correct dimensions which obviously are not always correct.
It seems most all ticker sites have slightly different values. LilyPie for instance is 400X60. In this case you would need to use the HTML icon in the toolbar and then edit these values for the ticker.
Example: width=”400 height=”60″ The existing ticker is going to have some values here – you just need to update them.
You can always email support and ask them to fix the ticker too!
Hope this helps.

I just finished another ticker for my cousins webpage. You need to adjust the size yourself by clicking on that small ticker, and stretch it up and down until you can see the letters as you would want them to appear on your homepage. It’s that simple. Good luck!

hi there,
when I paste the flash baby ticker from http://www.babystrology.com/baby-tools/baby-tickers/, it isn’t showing up on my website. I’ve copied and pasted the ticker code just like I did with Lilypie but with no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello Shannon,
We will soon be switching to a new tool that should solve this problem. Baby Strology tickers still do work but require a bit of “tweaking” in the existing administrative section. For now please try turning off EZ Edit to add the code.
The new version will be out shortly!

Hello Crystal,
Please contact support and be sure to send the code provided by LilyPie. Remember that you may need to clear your temporary Internet files and reload your site in some cases.
