TotSite Polls – What are your favorites?
We received a few emails from new parents asking what other TotSite members are using for Polls on their site. I thought it would be a great idea to post a few examples here on the blog, and then open it up for everyone else to add their favorites too.
My wife and I have been using TotSites now for a little over 2 years (Yes, we use it too! In fact, we will be welcoming our second child in about 2 months!!!) and we have used a variety of fun polls. A few of our favorites were:
- What is Baby’s first word going to be?
- When do you think Baby will start walking on her own?
- Now that Baby is walking, how long until she can catch up with the Kitty?
- How long till Baby asks Daddy for a puppy (without help from MOM!)?
- Will Baby actually sleep while camping?
- What will Baby’s new sibling be?
I always find it entertaining to see how our friends & family votes. Obviously some questions are created by Mom and others by Dad, each with their own bias. We can almost see the faces of our friends as they read and vote on the list of available answers while trying to guess who created the poll! It always adds a smile to our face when we see the results and we can’t wait to show the questions/answers with Baby when she is old enough to enjoy them.

When will our baby have hair ?
It’s sorta a family joke – half my husbands siblings are already going bald!

Right Now on our site we have: Who does the Baby look like? MOM, DAD, MAILMAN. For awhile the mailman was winning out Mom.

Right now, we have a poll going to decide where to have our daughter’s first birthday party…near home or almost an hour away at the beach? Our last one was “Which will Lana say first? Mama or Dada?” Another was, “When will our little chubbs roll over?”

We didn’t find out the sex of our child so our first poll question was what was it going to be “boy, girl, or puppy”. We had several votes for puppy! LOL Some others have been…How many “Baby’s First” things will she get for Christmas?, How will she react to Santa Claus?, What color will her eyes turn out to be?, When will she crawl?, What will her first word be?

We did two polls about a year ago. 1. What do you think baby will weigh? and 2. How early do you think baby will arrive?

I just started a poll that asks what Isaiah will be when he grows up! Some think he’ll be a Safari Guide (he’s really into animals) and some think he’ll be an astronaut (he loves his rocket) and still some think he’ll be the President of the United States! I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I just started one that asks who will baby look like? Mommy or Daddy. Thought about adding or the Milkman? LOL!

We were having a hard time coming up with a name, so we enlisted the help of others through our first poll question. We got together 7 name ideas, (some of ours, some of our friends, & some from family), and asked “Which name do you like best?” We listed the seven names and the eighth choice was “none of the above”. We had a lot of fun with it! We’re due in 3 weeks and we still haven’t made a final decision a name!! Our last 2 polls were about when Baby will actually come, and how big she’ll be. We got a lot of votes for April Fool’s Day for the due date poll! I guess we’ll have to wait & see!!

We had a boy’s name picked out but couldn’t decide on a girl’s name…so we listed 5 or 6 names and asked, “What is your favorite girl’s name?” We liked the name that won and went with it!

We have asked for friends and family favourite boys’ names…We chose one girl’s name for our baby, but it is a boy and we just could not choose…Thinking of starting a new poll…with guess the birth weight!!

Our son has some crazy blonde curls, and my husband and I are doing battle over when to cut it, so our poll question is when should baby have his first haircut with choices of “the sooner the better” “you mean he hasn’t had one yet?” and “no way should we cut those curls.” Much to my husband’s dismay NO ONE thinks we should cut them any time soon!

The poll I had the most fun with on our site is When is Aubrey ( our daughter) 13 months going to get a brother or a sister?
When she’s two
When she’s three
When she’s five
or She already has one on the way just no one know’s yet
I was trying to get people going. We weren’t planning on another baby quite yet. It’s fun to see what people think.

I have two polls in the works…one for each kid…”What will *** be for Halloween this year?” I plan to leave each one up for about 2 weeks.
I even added a list on the fun facts section of what the oldest has been through the years, not that it will necessarily help…
In the end it will be interesting to see if anyone can guess what they will be, because I’ve already bought the costumes!

I just started using totsites, the poll is a really cute tool. I asked when my 2 yr old son will get a sibling. With the responses
Why doesn’t he have one already?!
The sooner the better!
Wait untill he is old enough to change the diapers!
