I like it. Thanks for a new theme! Still waiting on “It’s a Boy” theme. LOL

Love the new Meadows design, but do not like how you have to scroll left or right to view everything. So I have stuck with one of the others for now.

Hi Mary and Monika, thanks for the feedback.
As you can tell, I went in a slightly different direction with this design, not only stylistically but in the way it is laid out.
This design was actually built for a higher minimum resolution computer monitor than most of the older designs. While I recognize that some of our members still employ a lower resolution screen, optimizing for a higher resolution (which the majority of computers are set at these days) also allowed us to provide more horizontal space for your photos, tickers and written content.
If you’re set at a lower monitor resolution (800×600 pixels), you may unfortunately have to deal with a bit of the side-to-side scrolling. We hope that the majority of our users will not have to deal with this issue though.
Some of you may also notice that the Meadows is a “liquid design,” meaning that it will actually adjust to the size of your web browser page. This is a bit of added flexibility we decided to add to correspond with the wider design.
While I’ll be designing some additional “wider” layouts for higher resolution screens in the future, don’t worry, I will still be doing more “standard” (800×600) new designs as well… including the upcoming Underwater theme!

I love this new design but none of my pictures fit it. I even went back 6 months to find one that fit and none do. I have stuck with one of the old designs for now until I can figure out how to do some resizing. Other than that I really like this one.
Hopefully we can get a Mother’s Day Design going. A lot of mom’s that I have recommended to this site, we are all First Time Mom’s!!!
Thanks,
Kaeden’s Mom

We fixed one minor issue on the Meadows homepage that was forcing some people to “scroll”. If you had problems in the past, please try it again.

sorry to be honest, I don’t like it. is this the only spring one you’re going to have?
Comment by Lindsay — April 17, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
Hi Lindsay. Thanks for your honesty. As I mentioned, I went with a different style on the Meadows design, and I certainly understand that it’s not for everyone.
One of things we try to emphasize with many of our TotSites themes is variety. Rather than churning out endless cookie cutter layouts, we feel it’s important to come up with new designs that are often unique, not just compared to other baby sites on the web, but even to other TotSites themes. We hope that this way our members will feel that the theme they choose is a little more special in that sense.
We acknowledge, of course, that it’s ultimately a matter of taste. There’s no way everyone will like a certain design. Heck, sometimes I have a hard time convincing Brian that certain design elements may or may not work with a new theme. There are plenty of healthy design debates behind the scenes at TotSites!
Hopefully the variety we’re presenting will allow you all to find something you like that fits your and your baby’s personality. In the meantime, we have a long list of great new theme suggestions that we’re continuing to work on.
We’re exploring the possibility of releasing one more Spring theme to all of our members. In the meantime, please remember that we also have the Sunflower theme which also exudes a Spring/Summer feel.

I love your designs Max – can I just request though that when working on the Mother’s Day theme it is not too girly for those of us that have only boys? Ideally I know it would be great to have 2 separate ones – a boyish and girlish one – but am sure you do not have that many hours in the day!!!
Thanks for all you do

I Love it! It may be my favorite one yet. I like when the extra boxes (like new photos and journal updates) are on the top with the photo since some people don’t scroll down when they check the site. I also like the butterflies that move so that they are not a distraction but more of an accent. I also like how the links all have a different sun spot- very neat!
Thanks for all the designs you create in time for all the holidays and seasons!

This is adorable I am so please that totsites is offering more options to make the site more exciting and new. I had considered using myspace because of the vast array of options but totsites is “safer” and with this new background and more like it I am definetly a pleased camper~ Holly
