Star Spangled

We’ve just completed a special design for our state-side members. A while back Brian hinted at a “Patriotic” design that had been requested by several families this spring. We couldn’t get it done in time for Memorial Day, but as promised, it’s ready for the Fourth of July! I hope our premium members will find this to be a classy way to deck their Tots out in Red, White and Blue. Use this one any time of year… but when the Fourth rolls around, make sure you turn on the fireworks!

    Just a quick note:

    Depending on what Browser you use to view the design, you will see a different version of the Fireworks (assuming you turn them on!).

    although that’s very nice. I know it’s kinda late, but it would be nice to have something like that for Canada Day which is July 1st.

    I love the new 4th theme, but I am disapponted that it is for Premium members only. Normally, the upgraded account has more options for themes, but since my membership with totsites, this is the first where they have the option of a theme and the general accoun doesnt at all.

    Very disappointed.

    We try to provide a variety of designs for both paid and free members. There have been times when we have a design option for a Season or Holiday available for all members but this not typical. One the many benefits for upgrading to a Premium account is access to all the Premium designs.

    In the spirit of 4th of July we will go ahead and make the Patriotic design available to all members for this week. To access the design be sure to click on the \”new\” filter when viewing the available designs. This is the only link that will allow free members to use the Patriotic theme for this week.

    Loved using this background for the holiday. Have another idea for the summer….a BBQ/Picnic theme…..Just trying to keep you guys busy! Love the site. Just upgraded to premium plus and it has been worth it!

    I just want to put in my 2 cents in on some of the themes (like this one) being premium only so not being accessible for all general members. I think that is completely fair. After all the time and effort you guys put into making these themes I think it only fair you try and make some money out of it. In addition it is not as though the cost of the premium membership is high especially when you consider it lasts for a whole year. I know besides the password protection, the great selection of backgrounds was one of my reasons for chosing premium membership. It seems unfair to me that some people always expect something for nothing. You guys work soooooo hard - you give awesome feedback, you always reply to emails as soon as possible and are just great to work with - you deserve to be rewarded :)

    I love this design. However I am having a problem with it. My welcome message doesn’t fit the background, it gets cut off and you can only read part of it. The same thing happens with the Brown design. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hello Courtney,

    If you add a ticker, baby pool, or other third party widget to your site the situation you are describing can happen. Luckily in most cases the solution is simple.

    After you have added the ticker (for example) using the HTML icon, be sure to add several line breaks *above* the ticker. You will need to add up to 8 or 9 line breaks depending on the size of the photo you have selected for your homepage.

    What is happening is the homepage photo is aligned left – and if you add a widget to your site it will try to place the ticker to the right of the homepage photo. Obviously there is not room for a ticker that is 468 pixels wide. By adding the extra line breaks the ticker will appear below the photo on your homepage and stay within the design.

    I hope this makes sense! If not please feel free to send us an email and we will gladly fix it for you.

    (We will also look into some way to automate this process as it is a common question)
