New Features for 2008
We were sitting down looking over the list of potential features to add to TotSites and thought it might be a good idea to get YOUR input! Many of the proposed features came from TotSites users so it is only fitting that everyone can help prioritize which ones to add first.
Please keep in mind that this poll does not contain every possible feature we will work on in 2008. The main goal is to just find out what is important to TotSites members now. If there is a feature not listed that you think would be a great addition, please post a comment.
Feel free to vote more than once. The poll will only let you vote once per session but if you visit the blog at a later time you should be able to vote again.

Couple things. I would like to have the “Sign Up for Updates” feature more prominent. Some designs don’t have it at all (at least that I can find). I would also like to be able to edit a poll. If I want to change something I have to delete it and start over. Other than that I love your site!

I would love an option where your website is linked to one that prints books such as snapfish so I could make my daughter a “scrapbook” using photos and captions on the photos page and also journal entries. If I could do that the information on my totsite that I’ve already spent the time doing, I would love that!

I would also like an option to print so I could use them in a scrapbook. (similar to Jaime’s suggestion above.) I did get a CD of the totsite around Christmas time to save and I love it. Next time I may even get some as gifts. The Sign Up for updates option being larger would be great too. Thank you for increasing our photo space!!!!!!!! Overall I love our totsite and our family and friends have really embraced seeing our little man grow and all the funny little things he does. I do love to scrapbook to preserve memories but I like to share them too and with the totsite I can. Thanks for all you do!

When working with photo’s on the “Manage Existing Photo’s” page…it would be great if we had the following features:
In the “drag-n-drop arrange”…
1. Select multiple photos to click and drag within an album instead of one by one.
2. When there are a lot of photos within an album, and you’re trying to move one from the beginning to the end (or the other way, without reversing the entire album), when you click and try to drag down or up, the window doesn’t automatically scroll down. I then have to use the arrow key to get the window to scroll to where I want to drag the photo too.
When viewing the photos within an album by clicking on “view”…
1. Be able to order the photo’s by number, and able to change that order by changing the number (similar to the movie queue in “Netflix”). This would be a secondary way to order multiple photo’s at once other than the click and drag.
2. Be able to move a photo to the beginning or end of the album with one click (again, similar to the movie queue in Netflix).

I would like it to be easier to load pics or to link pics to another site. I often spend hours loading to a web site like ofoto and then have to load more onto the totsites website. I wish I could drop & drag or link up to programs (I use iphoto).
-How about the ability to move around stuff on the webpage backgrounds?
-How about having an (optional) sponsor for the photos (like ofoto) where friends & family could order the photos. The revenue could pay for people to upgrade their accounts.
-Lower prices? It does seem expensive to me to upgrade. Offer more incentives to upgrade for ex: discounts, promos, referral bonuses, etc.

I would just like to add that I love your site but one issue that I have is that you can only delete one photo at a time. It would be nice if you could select multiple pictures to delete. It gets very tedious to have to delete a lot of photos when you have to delete them one at a time!

I like the changes you have added over the time we’ve been using our totsite. My suggestion is to have categories (I’ve suggested this before) to help organize our photos – like pregnancy, newborn, 1-3mths, 3-6mths, 6-9mths, 9-12mths, 12-15mths, 15-18mths, 18-24mths, 2yrs, 3yrs and so on.
I’d also like it if in the near future you can work on a drop down key for adding more children. I dont necessarily like the feature you currently have for more than one child. its not easy to keep track that way and I just think its nicer to have a seperate page for a different child.

Can we have the option to pick what go on the home page as the “latest pictures”? Sometimes I go back to year 2005 and upload some pictures that I missed in the past but those are not the latest pictures taken.

I like all the comments above. I think Diane addressed the comment I was going to make. I have multipal home page photos and I don’t always uncheck them as the months pass on. So sometimes I’ll log onto the page and see a really old photo. It takes some time to indivually open all my albums to find which one I need to uncheck. Perhaps you could do something about that.

I LOVE THIS SITE…y’all are wonderful…but, I want to vote for all the above! THANKS this site just keeps getting better and better…I don’t think that people that are looking at the site are being logged in as looking because I am getting comments from people that in the Share list says they haven’t ever logged in or it has been a month. I don’t know what the deal is with that but I really do feel it is importan to see who is even checking out the site from the people I spend time to send to it. Thanks again so much you guys are wonderful and my family that lives far away LOVES this website and if I am not constantly updating they get very ticky with me!

I agree with some of the other comments – that it would be great if people could order photos online, after viewing them on our website.
Thank you for the great job you do. Totsites is so easy to use and our out-of-state family loves it. My dad is stationed in Ahfganistan right now and loves to check on what his granddaughters are up to!

There are a lot of great suggestions here, but I especially want to echo what Alex said. It gets so tedious to organize an album by dragging each photo one by one, especially since the screen won’t automatically scroll as I drag.

I moved away from family and friends just after i had my daughter and your site has been a blessing to all. Everyone has still been able to see our lil one’s movements even though we were so far away. Even though we are back near everyone again i am still going to use your site. I love your site and update as often as my camera is full. The extra photos is great and the ideas for 2008 sound exciting. I’m from Australia and would love you to do an Australian design or even an Australia Day one for next year. But in the mean time keep up your good work and thanks for helping me celebrate my daughters life.

The second most popular feature request is completed and we are working two more! You can now add multiple photos to your homepage with the new photo selection process.
