New Movie Feature
When you add a movie to your TotSite you will notice a new “optimize” checkbox. We added a new feature to convert movies you upload to TotSites to a “Flash Video”. This new format has several benefits including: reduced file size maximizing your storage space, visitors can view movies without special plug-ins, and movies will start playing immediately. This format is the same as many other popular video sites such as YouTube and Google Video and is widely supported.
Movies will not automatically be converted to the new format. If you elect to have your movies optimized, it can take up to 48 hours for the movie to be updated. Your available storage space will be updated at that time.
Let us know if you have any questions. You should see an immediate improvement once you compare two movies side by side!
NOTES
- We are also going back and updating past movies uploaded to TotSites.
- You can actually upload movies up to 15MB each. The site still says 10MB but we are working on increasing this limit as well.

I am really excited about the movies being compressed to use less space, but… my recent uploads since this feature was installed have all turned sideways. I use quicktime on my pc to edit the orientation and it’s being lost in translation somehow. Can that be fixed?
Thanks!

Hello Lilian,
Thank you for pointing this out. We will take a look and see what we can come up with. In the meantime – you can always upload your movies and deselect the “optimize” checkbox or email support and ask them to revert your movies to the old format.
