How do I share my web site with friends and family?

You can invite friend and family to signup for TotSites alerts. Once a week we check to see if you made any updates to your web site. If something was updated, everyone in your address book who signed up for alerts will receive an email letting them know about the new photos or stories.

To invite someone to receive alerts:

• Login to your TotSite
• Navigate to the Share page
• Click on add to address book
• Enter their email address

They will receive an email with a confirmation link. Before they start receiving alerts they must first confirm their interest by click on the link. You can resend the invite at most 2 times.

To request your URL or website address to be changed:

• Login to your TotSite
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the support link
• Send a support request asking to change the URL of your TotSite. Be sure to include what you want to change it to.

If the desired URL is available, your website address will be updated within 24 hours. You will receive an email when it is complete.

Yes. Premium and Premium Plus members can use their own domain name instead of the default TotSites URL.

To use your own personal domain name:

• Register your domain name at one of the many Registrars: http://www.godaddy.com
• Set the Name Servers for the domain to:
  • NS1.CREATIVESEAS.COM
  • NS2.CREATIVESEAS.COM
• Login to your TotSite
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the Support link
• Send a support request with your domain information.

Once complete your domain name will redirect to your TotSite. After someone types in your domain into their web browser, they will be redirected to your TotSite URL.

Can I use my domain name with a free TotSite? The short answer is yes. Many registrars have a "domain redirect" tool that allows you to point your domain to your TotSite.

To require visitors to enter a password before they can view your stories and photos:

• Login to your TotSite
• Click on the My Account tab
• Click on the Security Center
• Turn on the site password by checking the box next to visitor password
• Enter a visitor password (you can change this as often as you like)
• Click the save button to save your changes.

IMPORTANT: While you are logged in to edit your site, the visitor password will not function when you preview your site. To test the visitor password, log out of your site and then view your personalized URL.

Hint: You have the option to include the visitor password in the weekly alerts sent to friends and family. By default this option is turned off so be sure to turn it on if you wish for the password to be included in the alerts. This is in the same box as turning on your password.
