Addison's Birthday
posted on 06/20/2008

I cannot believe he is one and such a big boy. We had a great weekend with all of our family in from out of town and our close friends. Addison was so cute throughout the party - not one tantrum or tear - yeah!! Thanks so much to everyone that made the trip and all those who brought gifts for the little guy. We have lots of great memories of Addison's 1st birthday!

This weekend is the much anticipated 1st birthday party for Addison. I can't believe my baby boy is turning 1 already. We have lots of family and friends coming to the party (about 30 with kids). I think everything is in order - justing waiting now. I will update the website again after the party.

Sorry for the Delay
posted on 05/23/2008

Hi Everyone!

I am sorry it has taken me so long to update Addison's World. Life is busy and this little guy is on the move now.

Addison started walking 2 days after he turned 10 months. He was so cute and small. He now just takes laps around the house. Sometimes he looks so bored and just walks around looking for something to do. Needless to say I am glad the weather is getting better so we can be outside playing and taking walks.

We have had some recent problems invovling an emergency room visit, several pokes before an IV was successfully hooked up and a couple doctor visits with uncomfortable pokes and prods. I am happy to say that Addison is doing better - we belive that Jesus is the Healer and that Addison is healed.

I am busy planning for Addison's 1st brithday party - oh, I am so excited! I know the 1st birthday is more for us than for him - but I hope to make it a good one for him. I have bought decorations, made grab bags for the kids, reserved the location, now I really only need to get the invites out and the food planned. Our first child's 1st birthday - this is pretty big for me!!!

Our 1st Easter
posted on 03/23/2008

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter - as they say in Russia - HE IS RISEN - HE IS RISEN INDEED!!

We had a great 1st Easter - it was our 1st Easter in the U.S. in 3 years, our 1st Easter with Addison and our 1st Easer pastoring a church - lots of firsts!

Addison got dressed up, took pictures with his basket as well as with some of the kids at the church. Next year - maybe an Easter egg hunt.

Sorry It Took So Long
posted on 03/10/2008

I am so sorry that I have lapsed for over 2 months on updating this site. I cannot believe how busy things have been. I have been taking lots of pictures of the little guy but just hadn't had the time to upload them to this website.

Anyway, we are all doing great. We are in a time of stretching and expanding, but that is always a good thing. Addison moves a mile a minute and wants to know what every little thing is (including a small crumb on the kitchen floor). As you read on the front page, he is waving, saying hi and standing by himself. He walks behind his little push car but hasn't let go and taken a step alone yet.

We are excited that Spring is approaching so we can get outside for walks and introduce Addison to the parks, grass, and maybe even bugs - we'll see!

As time is going so fast, I can't help but think that my little baby will be 1 year old soon. It's getting near the time for us to think about when we will try for another child - we are thinking this summer. But until then, life will remain busier than ever and I want to enjoy every little moment with Addison.

I am sitting here happy as can be because Addison is finally learning to put himself to sleep. After only a few minutes of whinning, he is down for the count - yeah!!! The little guy is so busy on the go now that naps are a great time for both of us. His top front teeth are coming in and that has caused a few tears, but we are surviving and thriving.

Our close friends Dave and Hollie had their second child almost 2 weeks ago - Carsen Michael Behnke. He was so tiny, I almost forgot that Addison was that small only 7 mos ago. And of course my little sissy Stephanie and her hubby Bryan will be having their 1st - a little girl in the next few weeks. Babies, babies and more babies - makes me think of having a few more! But of couse the thought will remain just that, a thought, until maybe this summer or fall - putting Addison and the next one about 2 years apart.

The Busiest Time of All
posted on 12/27/2007

Hello everyone!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It has been so exciting around here latley - and a little crazy too! With Addison's 1st Christmas now past and the New Year ahead I figured I better catch you all up on his growth and developement.

So, the easiest way to update you is to give you a list of all the things Addison has done and is doing since our last update after Thanksgiving:

  • Crawling - the normal way as well as the army crawl
  • Crawled outside of normal living room area into kitchen and hall
  • Pulling himself up onto things
  • 1st tooth (and looking like 3 more very soon)
  • Lots of new foods - variety is the spice of life
  • Holding his own bottle (learning to drink sitting up)
  • Celebrated Christmas 6 times due to our large family
  • Kissed cousin Allyson on the face (might have been really trying to put her face in his mouth)
  • Putting everything and anything is his mouth
  • Experienced the wonderful activity of the Jumperoo

Well,  I guess that covers it for now. I am so amazed at the rate of change that is happening with Addison. I won't be surprised if he isn't walking along the furniture shortly into the new year. Adam and I were both early walkers - I guess it's time to put the latches on the kitchen cabinets!

As for Adam and I - we too had a great Christmas. We are looking to the New Year with great anticipation and excitment in all of our new endeavors. The church plant in Monroe is doing great, we have a few months yet to prepare for Adam's next trip to Russia (March), I am starting an at home business called Lia Sophia (my sister Stacy is a manager so I will start under her) - if anyone is interested I am hosting my launch party on Jan. 17th and would love your support, I am also busy with the monroe momz blog. So much to do, God help us with our time!!

Thanksgivng gone, Christmas soon
posted on 11/23/2007

Whew, we just came off a very busy Thanksgiving weekend. Our whole family came to Monroe to feast at our house. It was so great to see everyone - especially the cute Davis kids - Jacob and Allyson. The joke around the house was that the turkey weighed more than Addison and of course both babies never slept at the same time so Jacob was always having to be quietCry

After finishing shopping for decorations on the day after Thanksgiving, we will put the Christmas Tree up this week. I am sure the lights and glitter of the tree will be just what Addison needs to start crawling instead of just rocking! Addison will be 6 months old at Christmas and we are so excited to get him new toys that will help his development. I told everyone I would post some of his Christmas wishes, so here we go:

Ryhmes-Go-Round Mirror   Fisher Price Rock A Stack   Fisher Price Sing and Go Choo Choo

Fisher Price GO Baby GO Stride to Ride Lion   Fisher Price Learning Birdbath
