JOURNAL Milestones to Rememberposted on 11/06/2007 Wow, it has been an eventful week. Addison learned to scoot across the floor, got his 4 month shots (a little late), and as a result, was a bit cranky. Once Addison started moving, he just kept going. Because of this new "milestone" I went to the store and bought a baby gate for the stairs. Better be prepared in case he takes after Adam and I, we were both early walkers (7 and 9 months). My heart grows more and more each day, my capacity for love has expanded greatly since Addison was born. Everytime he smiles at me, even in the middle of a fit, my heart just goes pitter patter. As he grows I am seeing personality traits in him that resemble his Dad as well me, but mostly he is just Addison. Next week we will be going to our first MOPS meeting here in Monroe. I am looking forward to meeting Moms and getting a little adult time while Addison plays in the nursery with other kids and is taken care of by some Grandmas that volunteer. I have not updated Addison's world for about a month because it was very busy with Adam away. I have a newfound respect for single moms - whew, it's a lot of work 24/7 with the baby. Addison is doing awesome, growing so fast and learning new things each day. I keep thinking about how I need to be in the moment as time goes way too fast. I have been working on a personal project with a friend of mine, Hollie. We will be launching a community blog for moms called "Monroe Momz" in the next couple of weeks. This blog will be a great tool for Moms in our area. It will include product reviews, community calanders, parenting discussions and much more. Feel free to check it out at www.monroemomz.wordpress.com Comments (0) A Update posted on 09/20/2007 Hello everyone! I am so pleased to see people visiting Addison's website. This is the easiest way for me to keep everyone up to date on his growth and changes. If you know someone that would like to know what's new with us, please send them the info for viewing this website and also, don't forget to send us a message in the guestbook or comment on a picture you may like. We are very busy here - just got Addison's 3 month pictures on Tuesday - he was such a ham for the camera - reminds me of my sister Stephanie when she was a kid - always smiling for the camera
Comments (2) 09/06/2007 Is it ok to say that sometimes raising kids is stressful? I absolutly love being a mommy, but I admit I get stressed at times. Until you have children yourself, you don't know what it is like for someone to need you for everything. It is in these stressful moments that I ask God to help me develop the fruit of patience more in my life. Patience for the moment as well as Comments (0) Making Room posted on 08/21/2007 Life is full of surprises. It was a joyful surprise when I found out that both of my sisters were having babies the same year as I was. My older sister Stacy gave birth to her second child (my 1st neice), Alyson Reese Davis last week (8 weeks and 1 day after Addsion). We were able to go back for a visit and see the baby and the rest of the family. Stacy as doing fantastic after giving birth - she looked great too! My younger sister Stephanie is 16 weeks pregnant with her 1st child. Our family is growing so fast, wait until next Christmas, there will be 4 grandkids - look out grandparents!! So many things have changed so quickly in our lives and I don't think it will slow down anytime soon. Addison isn't sleeping as long as he used to - during the day or night. I think he is like so many other children - afraid he is going to miss something. He is also eating way more than before - a growth spurt I guess! Since moving into the new place, Addison has slept alone in his room twice. I think it was tougher on me than him Comments (1) The Good Life posted on 07/07/2007 I thought my life was pretty great before - now I know it's great! Addison has brought a joy and love to my heart that I guess only a child can. My love for Adam has grown as well, I get teary eyed looking at Daddy and son together. I am almost 27 and am just beginning to experience life. Of course there are trying times being a new mom, but they are all manageable with God's grace and peace. I took my 1st trip alone out of the house earlier this week (to the dentist) and it was longer than I expected - I kept looking at my cell phone because I have pictures of Addison on there. I guess it will get easier to leave for a few hours - but until then, I am happy hanging with Addison. Comments (0) 06/26/2007 I attended my 1st church service on Sunday. It was pretty awesome, Uncle Aaron was licensed and ordained as an Administrative Pastor and my great Uncle Paul re-dedicated his life to Jesus after more than 15 years. I would say it was pretty cool - plus Pastor Doral prayed for me, mom and Dad!! Comments (0) |
