Can you believe it, Mommy actually updated my page with new pictures. I think she now knows how to put them on the computer herself. Yeah Mommy!! There's lots of new pictures so make sure you check them out. Mommy and Walker had a busy summer. Now Walker is in school so maybe Mommy and I can have one on one time. Woohoo!! Love to all.

Tomorrow is a major milestone in Alex's progress, he has officially been home for 1 YEAR!! Way to go Alex. He has made so many steps forward in the right direction this past year and Mommy couldn't be happier. I'm sure that tomorrow will be a very emotional day for Mommy considering she's already an emotional sap. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in helping Alex come this far. Lots of Love.

I'm not a happy camper this week, I got my very first timeout. I guess Mommy and Daddy really don't like it when I put my feet on the dinner table. They tell me NO and I continue to do it so I guess that is why Daddy turned me around to face the corner and yes I cried a lot, but I didn't put my feet on the table anymore. I think Mommy got some pictures of it the first time so you can all giggle at how cute and rotten I am. Boy, Mommy has no clue what she's in for.

My Bubba is back from Richmond and I was so happy to see him and Mommy. I think Walker is about to talk Mommy's ear off and Mommy cannot wait for school to start next month. Walker is wearing Mommy out already and he's only been back a couple of days. Mommy has some new pictures so hopefully she will get those posted soon. Lots of love

We are back from Alex's appointment with the cardiologist. The ASD (atrial septal defect) is still the same size as before and the upper right chamber of his heart is still enlarged which means that nothing has really changed with the pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Anad will send this information to Dr. Moore at Vanderbilt and he should be contacting us to determine when they want to do another heart cath. His medication for pulmonary hypertension has been increased so lets hope that we start to see a change.
I know that I should feel grateful that things haven't worsened, but I am a little disappointed that there hasn't been any change. All I ask is that everyone continues to keep Alex in their prayers and hope that this hole will begin to close on it's own. Thank you to everyone for all the love and support and we will keep you updated once Vanderbilt makes a decision.

Alex goes back to the cardiologist tomorrow for another echo(ultrasound of heart) to see how his pulmonary hypertension and ASD look. We will continue to have echo's until they decide it is time for another heart cath. Keep your fingers crossed that things look good. I will post an update after we get back.

Alex has decided that today was a day for major progress. First, Ms. Virginia and Mommy took Alex and Walker to swim at Moppy's pool. Alex loved the pool even if it was freezing cold. He wanted to stay in the water to splash and kick his feet around, he made it about 3 hours there. Once we got home Alex was on the floor playing and decided he wanted to get the ball, so to accomplish this he got on his and knees and crawled for the first time. He has been getting on hands and knees for a while, but hadn't quite figured out how to take off until today. Alex is now definitely on the move!! After crawling speech therapy came to work on getting Alex to eat. Ms. Virginia had put peas and squash about 1tsp of each on a plate and Alex cleaned the entire plate. This is such a first especially since now we don't have to force it in his mouth, he actually opens his mouth and goes for the spoon. Today really has been an amazing day with all these firsts and Mommy is so happy, but in a way sad because he's not that little baby anymore. Mommy does feel blessed though, because she got to experience that baby time a little bit longer than most do. All we can do is pray for more positive days like today. Just to give everyone a heads up, August 2 will be Alex's one year anniversary for being home, please remember to say Thank you to the big guy upstairs for this major event!!! Love to all, and there will be new pictures up soon.
