I just got word about Sanaa's 1 year checkup. She's a HEALTHY 22lbs 4oz and stands tall at almost 3 feet. Of course, she cried when the doctor touched her (probably even before that), but she's healthy.

Sanaa is no longer my short fat baby! She is now long and lean...with a tummy, just like her Mommy had when she was a kid!

She's in the 25th percentile for height and 50th for weight.

She's in the 50-75 percentile for her age. She got her 2 month shots and screamed her head off!

She has been trying to say mama but would say "mmm" and finally said it on Christmas Eve.

She knew about clapping before, but this is the day she actually started doing it by herself. She even says "Yay" when she claps!

She was very interested in this box I have on the floor in my room, so I put her hands on it. I wasn't expecting it, but she actually pulled herself up to standing! Her balance is still off and I had to hold her waist to make sure she didn't fall, but she did it all by herself! Now she doesn't like to sit down anymore and gets all fussy.

She's still very wobbly, but she can hold onto her crib railing and stand all by herself!

She'll eat a whole container of each if you let her!

The doctor ok'd Sanaa eating baby food! As soon as we got home, I gave peas and she loved them!

Happy Mother's Day to me! Sanaa is playing with her hands and is beginning to grab at things. She only reaches for her binky, bottles, bibs and my hands right now, but I'm sure that's just the beginning!

Sanaa has begun to "scoot" around her crib already! She raises up on her arms and pulls herself around. It's only in a circle so far, but it's a start! I wasn't expecting any kind of movement for at least another 2 months!

After coming back from a weekend with her Grandma Linda, Sanaa cracked a huge smile at me! It melted my heart and I almost cried.
