Claire's such a big girl. Yesterday when Claire was eating lunch I told her to blow on her chicken nuggets because they were hot, and she actually blew on them! It caught me by surprise. She's still not walking. She can though... When she walks all she has to do is have a finger just touching something, and she will do it. If you move her one finger off of whatever she is "holding" onto she'll sit down. She'll also stand up when no one looks. When you clap of acknowledge her she'll sit down.

She also has been pointing at everything now. Her little finger is so cute! She shakes her head now to answer you. She'll shake yes or no whatever the answer is. I asked her if she had fun with her Daddy today, and she shook her head yes. She is SO cute!! I can't get over her!

She also has no teeth still. Mom told her that none of us kids had our teeth before 12 months so maybe they're coming.

Claire had her first birthday check up on Tuesday. She had to get her finger poked, and they had to get a little vile of blood from that small poke. Needless to say that took awhile. She was SCREAMING the whole time! She cried so much and so hard that she threw up a little. They had to put a band-aid over that. She tripped out and shook her hand around trying to get it off. She finally settled down after about 5 minutes of crying hysterically. Then they had to do a TB skin test where they stick a needle in her arm for a couple seconds. THEN... she had to get 4 shots, two in each leg. The nurse picked her up after all the shots, and Claire threw up all over her! Not fun...

After doctor's visits she's usually fine, but I forgot to give her Tylenol... She screamed pretty much all day until we got home, and I could give her some. Before we could go home though we had to go to the bowling alley to buy our bowling balls for the league we're in. It was a LONG day!

Claire's Birthday was good. My family came over, and we ate Taco Salad. Later we gave Claire a personal Birthday cake. She's such a lady. I was looking forward to seeing her dig in and make a mess. She didn't though. She would just grab a piece with her thumb and finger. We actually had to stick her hand in the cake. Her cousin Kenna came over with a gift. Holly, Kenna's mom, told me that it was something that Claire loves. It was food. :) That is definitely something Claire LOVES! She's a porker. My family gave her a toy Parrot that repeats what you say. It's a joke because Kev and I are not animal people so they got her a "pet". I play with it more than Claire does though. Her party is almost here, 9 days. I still have a lot to do. Hopefully it will all come together though.

I can't believe Claire will be one tomorrow. It seems like a just had her. Time really does fly. Claire still is not walking by herself. She'll stand up for a few seconds and will walk when you hold her hands. We're trying not to pressure her. She'll walk when she's ready. I'm in not hurry for her to grow up.  She is getting a tooth though...I think. It's murder getting her to open her mouth so that I can look. It's on the bottom and to the right side.

Anyway, Kev and I are going to bowl in a winter bowling league. It starts in September and ends in December. We bowl every Friday, and we also get to bowl free any time that we want to during the week. We order some bowling balls. They should be in today, and we just have to go get them drilled for our hands. We're excited. Kev's grandparents and uncle play in a league every season. Kev's grandpa, Grumps,  bowls in the 200's so he's been coaching me. I bowled my highest game that day to, a 111. That's good for me. My average is about 50. I'm horrible. Kev's okay though.

Claire fed herself for the first time with a spoon on the 23 of this month. After a couple bites she got tired of it because it took a long time for her to get something on the spoon. She's getting the hang of it though.

Claire and her cousin Kenna, who is a month younger, are going to have a big double first birthday party. It should be a lot of fun. It's going to on August 25 from 11:30-1:00 at the Vidor Skating Rink. The girls will be able to have fun on the rink in their walkers. I think it will be more fun for the parents though. :)

Claire had macaroni and cheese for the first time today. She LOVED it! She's really starting to "talk". It sounds just like Chinese. Kev calls it babinese. She look right into your eyes and just talk to you for like 5 minutes. Yesterday after her nap i brought her to the couch, and she "talked" to me forever about her dream I guess. Then later that day when I was talking to mom on the phone Claire was whining, and she came to me and looked right in my eyes and told me what was wrong I guess in her babinese. It's SO cute. I could listen to her all day. She's also in this phase where she won't kiss you. Before, if I made a kissing noise she would come to me and kiss me. Now she just pushes my face away. I think she's rebelling against everything. She won't even listen to me when I say no anymore. She's a B-R-A-T.
