I've been very tired a lot the past few days so I'm not very chatty .  Entries will be short...

BABY SHOWER

Had a baby shower at work last Wednesday, June 20.  It was fun.  I got a decent loot :D  I posted pictures in the photo album.

No speeches, just my boss "introducing" me and welcoming (and thanking) everybody and thanking the organizer.  Then they asked me to open the presents.

They know I'm not used to being the center of attention, so they were nice to me :D  They were the ones making the jokes and making the party alive while I open the gifts.

My friends are planning another baby shower next Saturday June 30.  We'll do it here at the house.  And the organizers are going to be here early to help set up the place, and then stay after the party to help clean up. 

ULTRA SOUND

I have posted the pictures already in the photo album.  I also made copies of the 4D (ultrasound session) and has sent it out yesterday (Thursday)  - so it should be in KY and IL either Saturday or Monday.  It should be in the Philippines in 1 week or 2 weeks (depending on Phil post office service).

I was a little worried when I get there at Sonotech, and was really hoping that he'll be in a good position for the ultrasound.  And he was, kinda.  It's good that we saw his face.  His legs were by his head and the technician was taking "picture" between his legs :D  sounds like he's folded in half. 

He's moving right now, he just did a big flip! (that kinda hurts and it startled me).  I'll try to get a video of my belly moving :D  of course once the camera is on, I'm sure he'll stop moving...

3D/4D Utrasound

Well, that was a little disappointing that we couldn't get a good shot of Baby Briar.  I thought he's going to cooperate, but his position was the worst position to get an ultrasound.  I guess he was shy and hid his face.  He was facing my back and he's in breech position.  All we can see is his spinal column and skull/back of his head. 

Last Thursday June 7, during doctor's visit, he was already in the correct position - heads down, facing front.  I already saw his chubby cheeks, and he was in a dramatic pose where his wrist is resting on his forehead.

So, I hope he moves again.  I'm really surprised to find out that he made that big movement between the last doctor appoinment and the 3D ultrasound appointment. 

I felt a huge movement this afternoon, so I'm hoping it's him switching position again, hopefully facing front now.

The nursery closet it done!!! Thank you Daddy Keith! 

Check out the photo album for the closet pic.  Mommy forgot to take the "Before" picture so there's nothing to compare it with, but it used to have one shelf and one hanging rod.  It looks MUCH better now.  Thank you Daddy Keith!

PRENATAL APPOINTMENT Part II

Appointment went very well. Blood pressure is very good, baby's heartbeat is doing good - but Dr. didn't tell me the exact number. Not dilated yet, so looks like we're going to make it to the due date. She had to measure, I think she got concerned when I mentioned that I'm getting Braxton-Hicks contractions twice in one day. But nothing to worry about. Looks like, everything is doing well that I won't need to see the Doctor or Nurse practitioner after another 4 weeks. I thought it will be every two weeks from now, but that is not the case. The doctor was pleased when I told her that the movement charting is doing well that to get the 10 movements, it only takes less than 10 minutes - more often less than 5 minutes to complete the observation. Good job Briar!

Oh, and she did an ultrasound today, sad to say that the sonogram wasn't clear that even if I post it, it's not readable. Even I can't make out what's being shown, even when I saw it on the screen. So I'll just wait until Tuesday - after the 3D/4D session, before I post another picture.

So looks like due date is still the same August 6. Baby Briar is really growing though, he has more fat now that his cheeks look a little chubby already when I saw him in the ultrasound today. His fingers are rounder, he had his mouth open earlier that looks like he's either breathing or drinking/eating. She was scanning around and she saw Baby Briar's bladder, she commented that looks like he's ready to pee soon, he's bladder's full Doh! But it looks funny though. (and cute :D)

SOOO TIRED

It's 3:30PM (June 7) while I'm writing this journal entry and I am soooo sleepy. I woke up last night at 2AM (1:51AM to be exact) to empty my bladder... and my heel/ankle was still aching that on my way to the bathroom I was limping and in pain. I couldn't get back to sleep after that, I tried for 1HR. I gave up and went outside to lay in the couch and watch TV. I finally slept around 6:30AM, but had to go to work so I got up at 8AM (and the birds were calling me already so I took them out before they woke up Keith - actually, I think it was his alarm that woke them up?). Anyhoo, I'm going home early today so I can rest.

BABY SHOWER

My co-workers approached me earlier asking me who I want invited to the baby shower they are planning for me. They already set it up for June 20, they gave me a copy of the invitation - according to that, they can either buy from the registry OR they can contribute to a "fund" for a gift certificate at BabiesRUs.

My friends are also planning a shower for me, I think they are going to schedule it on July 21 (Saturday).

BABY's ROOM

Poor Keith had a sinusitis attack over the weekend, that "we" (he) just had the closet painted. Although, he already started with the closet organization system and will most likely finish that this weekend (I hope! ) Then by June 20, I'll have something from the shower that we can set up in the room.

I'm browsing the net for a "theme" or bedroom set that looks cute and won't make Baby Briar look girly. But, looks like it's going to be the Pooh set that I saw from BabiesRUs. I would like to see and feel the beddings before I buy it - which I can't do if I get it online. I also would like to see the crib's quality before getting that - hence, can't do it online.

*YAWN* gotta work now so I can leave early....

PRENATAL APPOINTMENT

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow 06/07/2007.  I'm hoping she'll do an ultrasound, but if not, that's fine, I have an appointment for a 3D and 4D ultrasound on Tuesday, 06/12/2007.

I wonder what kind of test I will be doing/subjected to ()  tomorrow.  I believe starting tomorrow's appointment I will be meeting with her every two weeks instead of every 4 weeks.  I'm almost 32weeks! 8months!  Wow, it's really getting closer.  We need to start getting ready.

Baby Briar is doing good.  Movement charting is doing well, 10 movements in 5 minutes (or less)! 

More stories tomorrow after I see the doctor...

30 WEEKS!

Again unfortunately, there was no ultra-sound during my last prenatal appointment so there's no new pictures.  But, I "borrowed" a picture/image online of how a baby looks like at 30 weeks.  And it looks like Baby Briar is in the same position - head down, feet up and it feels like it's mostly on my right side.  Why did I say that?  Well, when I feel his hiccups, I can feel it mostly down low in my lower abdomen... and when he's kicking (which he does a LOT!) it's on my right side.  The movement in the lower abdomen is more subtle than the upper abdomen. When he's kicking, he's really at it - it's getting painful now.  At times, he's so active my stomach looks like something from the movie Alien.

On a different topic, I was reading a community magazine and saw this site www.pregnancyjourney.com.  It's in the area, and I'm really interested in their 3D/4D Ultrasound, as well as their Prenatal Yoga, AND the Prenatal Photography .  I already called them to ask about their office hours, I'll call them again to schedule for a "tour" of their facility and maybe to enroll in their Prenatal Yoga class.

What else is new...?  Hmm, nothing much.  I just can't wait to wash all the baby clothes, but it's too early, it might get dusty again and I might have to wash it again before the baby comes out.  I'll just have to wait until at least 37 weeks, then I'll get that done and sterilize the baby's bottles.

Childbirth Classes

We're scheduled to attend the Healthy Beginnings Late pregnancy class on July 5, the class description is :

This class will help prepare you and your support person for labor and delivery, and the postpartum experience. Learn about what to expect in the hospital, options for labor and delivery pain relief, and how to care for yourself after birth. This class aslo includes a tour of Morse Avenue Hospital Labor and Delivery.

And then another class, Preparing for Childbirth, on July 14. This is too close to the due date, I hope we get to attend the class before the baby decide to come out ;D The class description is:

This class will help prepare you and your support person for labor and giving birth. You will learn breathing and relaxation techniques; pain management options; the role of the coach; hospital procedures; and what to expect before, during, and after delivery.

Then, Newborn Baby Care on July 16 - Keith won't make it in this class as this is a Monday and the class starts at 6:30pm.
