It was fun last Saturday. We bought baby clothes from Carter's outlet store... they have Easter sale that weekend and all items are 50% off. It was fun buying baby clothes We spent a little too much than I was planning to, but we had fun anyways. The clothes are soooo cute! Maybe sometime end of May or beginning of June, we will start getting things for the nursery. Get little by little so we won't be overwhelmed. I'm thinking the first thing to get would be baby carrier (or that travel system). I've heard a story from a friend of mine, new parents did not prioritize the baby carrier/car seat and was waiting for after their baby shower before they buy any baby items... then the mom gave birth before the baby shower - so soon after the baby came out, dad rushed to the store to get a carrier and car seat so they'll have something to carry the baby the next day when it's time to go home.

This information keeps nagging me... I am not sure if I heard it correctly or not, but the U/S technician mentioned baby is 12oz last March 16. On the "Due in August" board forum where I go chat with other moms/moms-to-be they are worried because their baby was measured to weigh 10oz... and they said that's already big! Holy Moly! Then I should worry about our baby being 12oz?? Although, I'm not really worried... I'm glad baby's healthy and "big"... if need be, then I guess we'll have to go Ceasarian... Things will be fine... baby's healthy, mommy's healthy... it will remain like that until the time the baby's ready to go out... and of course even after...

This is an exciting day! We found out babylimabean (who is not a lima bean size anymore) is a boy! He's a cutie pie... we can see him swallowing during the ultrasound. He cooperated with the technician during the checkup/ultrasound. He is a good boy, and he's going to be a good boy when he grows up. All tests are good - negative on AFP (genetic) tests. Baby's size as measured in the ultrasound and mommy's belly is normal, heartbeat is within expected range (156). I only gained 1 (or .8) lbs since my last doctor appointment (one month ago Feb 15). I was worried at first, but actually, I think I've lost all the fat from eating unhealthy/junk food pre-pregnancy, but still gained "baby" weight. Though I was conscious of what I eat then, I am more conscious of what I eat now - what I eat now is what baby eats... so more veggies, more milk, more juice (OJ with calcium! V8, grape juice), more fruit... more healthy nutritious food. If it's good for mommy, it's good for the baby. No more soda, less coffee, less junk food (as in barely eat it now - just a bite or two when I have cravings). As the baby grows, it's getting harder to move, harder to get in or off the bed, a little bit hard to sit and stand from sitting position, I got to catch my breath whenever I do chores or walk around... BUT the fun thing is, I can feel the baby now! There he goes again... I can feel him more on my left side - and during the ultrasound, we found out that that's where baby's legs/feet are... he's probably kicking me during those times I feel him... ooops there he goes again... He's probably trying to say it's time to go to bed... more journal entries when there's update... night night...

MONTHLY REFLECTIONS : (4 Month)
What I least expected with this pregnancy was: - the aches and pains and always tired! I didn't think all that comes with pregnancy... you see on TV and movie how pregnant women are pretty, and aside from the heavy belly, things look so easy.
The best bit of advice I've received is:- Get plenty of rest, at least now, I'll be forced to slow down and really rest.
What has changed the most in my life with this pregnancy is: What made me realize that I was really pregnant was:- When I "saw" the baby during my first (official) ultrasound on my 10th week. Baby's arms look like either waving or swimming.
This month's ultrasound was:- last Feb 5. Saw BabyLimabean is bigger and features are more distinct now. She/he is so active! The nurse practitioner couldn't find her heartbeat using the doppler that we had to use ultrasound again to see her/his heartbeat on the screen.
At my prenatal visit this month I discovered that:- Babylimabean :D is in good health, growing as expected and very active. We will know baby's gender in March 16.
My hopes: My fears: - I'm plagued with this thoughts about genetic disease - everywhere I read, and even in the hospital they recommend tests for genetic disorders since I'm already 35yrs old... I'm really hoping I wouldn't have to have amnio. I really don't feel comfortable about the 1 out of 200 changes of miscarriage due to amnio.

MONTHLY REFLECTIONS : (3rd Month)
What I'm enjoying the most about my pregnancy so far is: - I'm getting a lot of rest - I'm taking lotsa nap... :D
The strangest advice I've received is: - Don't eat champorado (rice with chocolate, Filipino breakfast dish), or my baby might take on the color of the dish (dark brown).
Names that I've been thinking of: - Elizabeth, Victoria (if girl)
Girl or boy? I think you will be a: The old wives tales predict: - baby's going to be a boy... that's according to the Chinese "calendar" too.
At my prenatal visit this month I found out that: - I'm carrying one child :D and baby is doing good, heartbeat looks healthy, everything is as expected.
My hopes: My fears:

MONTHLY REFLECTIONS : (2nd Month) The hardest thing for me to give up is:
- coffee! (thank God, I read a cup of coffee is not harmful to the baby, I can have a cup once a week!)
This month I told: - My mom and dad, Keith's mom and dad. My siblings. A few co-workers. Then, my relatives in the 'pines.
They reacted by: This month at my prenatal visit I learned that: - baby is 6 weeks and doing well.
New pregnancy symptoms I had this month: - nausea when I smell certain food or scent, no vomiting though... not really having morning sickness.
My hopes: - Healthy baby, with two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth, two arms, two feet, complete organs.
My fears: - being 35 yrs old and first pregnancy, I've heard about the risks. I hope our baby is going to be healthy.

Friday, January 19, 2007 It's weird, some calendars say I'm on my 12th week now, some say only 11th week. Whichever week it is, I don't "feel" very pregnant. I know, I should feel blessed and be thankful - no morning sickness, a little nausea for certain smells/scent or for food, no vomiting at all. I guess, I feel a little... changes in the breast mostly - sensitive/tender, and can't sleep well at night... but that's all...
So I'll stop complaining and consider myself lucky that unlike some pregnant women, I don't feel much of the symptoms. ;o)
I guess it's because I'm not showing yet that I am a little worried.
