Lake Tahoe, CA

WOW!  Almost two months of no entry.  I didn't feel like writing anything the last two months.

So many things happened... half of it I don't remember anymore. One major thing happened, for the first time, I voted in the US election.

My (hen) cockatiel was injured over the weekend, it could be from night fright - or she plucked a bloodfeather and hurt herself and fell from her perch.  She broke her wing :( my poor baby.  The sad thing is, it's on the "shoulder" and not in the "elbow" part, so the doctor can't put a splint by the injury.

Keith and I took her to the bird and pet clinic/hospital.  She spent the night there because they had to give her anesthesia before they can xray her.  She was there Wednesday around noon, and I only got her Thursday around 6PM.  She's on medication now - pain reliever with anti-inflammatory, and I'm giving her calcium supplements.  Poor baby, she did not eat last night.  After I gave her medicine this morning, she went in her cage, and head to the towel that I set for her on the bottom of her cage.  Hopefully she eats today.  Otherwise, she's going to spend another day or night in the hospital.

She's going to have athritis from this injury from now on.  And she's only probably 5years old,  Cockatiels has a life expectancy of 20yrs.  I don't really know how old she is.  I have only had her for 3 years (I adopted her April 2005) and I don't know how long the previous owner(s) had her.  (Ruffus on the other hand, I adopted in February 2006, and my co-worker had him for 2 years - so Ruffus is now 4 years old).

My little HokeyPokey is now a special needs birdie.  Hopefully she recovers from this.

We had a great weekend in South Lake Tahoe, CA/NV - celebrated my birthday, and our 3rd anniversary.

I've been gone for a while, went to visit my family and to attend my brother's church wedding.

I had a great time, the wedding was great.  I don't really like my pictures during the wedding and reception but if I find one that's okay enough to look at I'll post it here.  :D

I was reminiscing today of what happened during my vacation.  I saw how close me and my brother and sisters are.  We're like bestfriends.  We have little squabbles but those don't last long and it's really not that big.  I give credit to the way we were raised by my parents and other elders in the family.  The biggest thing we were taught was respect especially to the elders, then obedience, but I'm really glad that we were also taught self-reliance and others that I can't remember right now.

I wish I have extended my stay so I had more time spent with them.  We'll prepare for that in the future may be spend at least two weeks there.

First of all, thank you to those who called, sent a text message, PM'd me, or left a message in a board yesterday to greet Briar a happy Birthday/Angel day and to give me support. Thank you to those who prayed for us.  I appreciate it very much.

My brother called, he said, him and my sis-in-law were thinking about Briar's birthday the week before but decided he was not going to mention anything to me in case he causes me grief. Though I appreciate that he was thinking about me, I told him that I'd rather that they mention the fact that they are thinking about Briar and remembers his birth date. It makes me feel good that I'm not the only one who remembers Briar, that eventhough we were not given the chance to meet him alive, he mattered not only to me and Keith but to others as well. Don't worry that you might make me think about him, he's always in my mind anyway - so it's nothing new :)

Looks like he's not going to make it... the puppy's not eating anymore.

I'm so tired - I really am tired.   Does God hate us?

I know it's just a pet, it's just a dog... but it's one after another.  It will be one year when we lost Briar, then I lost my nana, then we lost our little bean (our 2nd child) - just last week, and now another death in the family.  I'm really getting near the end of my rope.
