Rylee's Birth posted on 04/27/2009
Well this will by my final post on Rylee's totsite. Thanks everyone for your prayers, love and support throughout this pregnancy. Rylee is a complete joy and we are so thrilled to have her. Presley loves her so much. She is going to be a great big sis.
Rylee Lynne's Birth:
On the night of March 3rd I went to bed feeling nothing. I thought for sure we would schedule an induction at my appointment on March 4th. I was frusterated because it didn't seem like I was going to go into labor anytime soon. Little did I know that Miss Rylee had other plans. I woke up around 3:30 am on March 4th have to to go to the bathroom. Upon returning to bed I was almost asleep when I felt/heard a pop inside my belly. My first thought was that it was Rylee moving around. But I felt something wet so I stood up and my first thought was "I know I can hold it better than this." ;) When I went back to the bathroom I noticed a little bit of blood and a constant leak. My water had broke! I was so excited I could barely stand still. I was in labor 2 days before her due date and my birthday!! All I wanted was to go into labor naturally and I DID!! I woke Wes up and he jumped out of bed go started getting everything ready to leave for the hospital while I called the doctor. Dr. Groff who I love was on call and said that it sound like my water had broken and to take my time getting ready and head in in a few hours. So I called my parents and Wes called his to let them know the exciting news. Jason agreed to come over and watch Miss Presley while my parents followed us to the hospital. I was able to take a shower and get ready prior to heading to the hospital. At first I was feeling pretty good. My contractions didn't start until about 4:00am. They were coming every 5 to 8 minutes. By the time we got to the hospital my contractions were taking my breath away.
We checked into the hospital and they were able to get me situated. I was checked and they said I was about 3 cm. They started all my work-ups and by about 6:50am (almost 3 hours after my contractions started) I requested an epidural. Little did I know that when you go into labor naturally vs induced labor it takes longer to receive the epidural because they have to process all my work-up information before there is approval. With an induction they are doing all the work-up stuff at the start of your induction so you aren't in too much pain yet. Note to self...if I go naturally again I will request one upon checking in.
I remember at one point being left in the room by MYSELF and my only thoughts were WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!! He was sent on one task...to get my mom who was going to be there for the birth. Little did I know that he got hung up in the nurses who insisted on making him a fresh pot of coffee. He finally returned and I begged him to find out when I was going to get my epidural. Finally after about an hour after the request I received my epidural and unlike Presley's birth where my epidural didn't take...this one was AWESOME!!! They checked me about 8:00am after receiving the epidural and said I was about 5cm. So I decided to rest since it would probably be awhile before I had to push...little did I know. At about 9:00am I was feeling quite uncomfortable. The nurse checked me and said I was 10 cm and ready to push. She called Dr. Groff and I began to start pushing. Towards the end of delivery Rylee got stuck. Her shoulders were having trouble making their way out. So the lovely nurse decide to push HARD on my belly to help pop Rylee out and after a few pushes out she came at 9:23am. Dr. Groff immediately placed her on my belly and I was hooked. So in love with this beautiful little girl. Could it be possible to have two daughters who I am madly in love with. My answer is YES!!! Rylee weighed in a 8lbs 13oz and was 21 inches long. Her cord was wrapped around her neck but not too tight. She was beautiful. My labor with Rylee like Presley's only lasted 5 1/2 hours. I am glad now that I didn't wait too long to go to the hospital after my water broke or we would have been in trouble.
Wes, my mom, Dr. Groff and a nurse were the only ones in the room. It was very intimate and sweet. I didn't experience this the first go around because Presley's birth had alot of complications with her heart rate and swallowing the meconium.
I am so truelly blessed for one to have quick labors ;) and two to have two beautiful and healthy girls to love and raise! God is good!

39 weeks and 2 days! posted on 03/01/2009
Well it is official!!! Rylee will be a March baby. I thought she may come a little early and end up with a February Birthday...but today sealed the deal on it being March. :) I have been having on and off again contractions. Nothing regular yet. I keep thinking they will become consistent and stronger but they end up fading off. They started Friday Feb 27th and I had some on the 28th and a few today too. Maybe she will still decide to come on her own this week. I have my next doctor's appointment this Wednesday March 4th. At that time they will go ahead and schedule me for an induction for the week after my due date. Rylee is getting closer and closer to my Birthday. Maybe she will decide to come on my Birthday. What a present that would be.
At my doctor's appointment this week they told me that nothing has really changed expect I am now about 50% effaced and still only 1 cm. Rylee's heartbeat was at 142 bpm. Presley was able to go to this appointment and she heard Miss Rylee's heartbeat. This was the first time Presley really didn't mind seeing me up on the table. She kept telling Wes "all better daddy. Mommy's all better." It was adorable.
I will keep everyone posted. Rylee will be here soon and we can wait. :)

38 weeks 5 days! posted on 02/25/2009
I am currently 38 weeks 5 days pregnant with Miss Rylee. I am more than ready for her arrival. Within the past week or so I have been noticing changes in my body which make me think that my body is getting ready for her arrival. YAY!! My pregnancy with Rylee has gone by so fast....I can't believe we are within the final week or so. I watch Presley and can't wait to see how her and Rylee will interact. Presley is so a sweetheart...I know she will be a wonderful BIG Sister to Rylee.
Some cravings have popped up in the last month. I am in love with crunching on ice again, milk is tasting pretty good and I know this may sound weird but I am in love with candy canes!! Thank goodness we have a whole bag left from Christmas for me to munch on.
Our next doctor's appointment is tomorrow. I am hoping to have some progress to report. :) Looking forward to meeting you soon Rylee!!

38 Weeks & Doctor's Appointment posted on 02/19/2009
I will be 38 weeks tomorrow (Friday, February 20th)! I can't believe I am two weeks away from my due date. It is funny how I don't even think about my Birthday at all....I am just counting down the days until her arrival. Rylee due date is on my 27th Birthday. Wouldn't that be something if I went into labor on my Birthday? We will soon find out.
I had my doctor's appointment today and they are not planning on inducing me early. They say that it is not recommend if you are diagnosed with Group B Strep. So unless Miss Rylee decides to come early I will have to be patient. The doctor said everything looked great. I am still only 1cm dilated. Bummer. I am having some mild cramping from time to time. Maybe that is an indicator that something will start soon.
I have been feeling great for the most part. My back is the main problem. Wes has been doing an amazing job of trying to work out all my knots. I have several and I don't know they're there until he starts rubbing on them. I am sleeping a little better. Still dealing with a cold though. A positive thing with this pregnancy is I have barely started to swell. SHOCKER...seeing that I swelled like a balloon with Presley. My indigestion is still awful. TUMS is my new found friend. ;)
I will hopefully have some pictures of the nursery up this week. It is cute. :)
My next appointment Thursday, February 26th at noon. Hopefully there will have been some progress made. :)

37 Weeks and Doctors Appointment posted on 02/12/2009
I will be 37 weeks tomorrow! I can't believe how fast these weeks are flying by. I am so ready to hold Rylee. I had my weekly appointment today. Everything with Miss Rylee checked out great. Her heartbeat was 150bpm and I am still only 1 cm dilated.
The bad news was I tested positive as a carrier of Group B Strep. Bummer. My heart totally sank....thinking how is this going to affect my baby. The doctor reassured me that they are very proactive during the labor process and will administer antibiotics to me which will help prevent the baby from contracting Group B. The doctors are not concerned and believe everything with Rylee will check out fine. They said that I am a carrier but I am not infected with the virus. Praise the Lord.
So now our prayers turn to Rylee's delivery. We ask for prayers that Rylee's delivery goes smoothly and that she checks out healthy.
Our next appointment is Thursday, February 19th. We will update you then.

9 Months and Counting!! posted on 02/09/2009
So...this past Friday I hit 36 weeks! I am now 9 months! Yippeee. I am so ready to meet Rylee but at the same time a little nervous about the transition from one to two little ones. I'm sure I will adjust and everything will be wonderful. I think I am more concerned about Presley entering the 2 year old stage than I am about having a newborn. Either way in just a matter of weeks we will become a household of 4.
I also had a shower this past weekend. I was telling Presley all week that it was a Big Sister Party. She is getting really excited. Anyways....we were totally blessed at the shower with tons of diapers and necessities for baby Rylee. Thanks to all who came to share in our joy and a special thanks to Lauren who hosted the wonderful shower. I will post pictures shortly. The cake was beautiful....I almost didn't want to cut it....but the taste was just as good so it was all worth it. :)
Rylee you are already loved before you even arrive. :)
I have my next appointment this Wednesday. Maybe there has been some change in a week. We shall see. I know the pressure is starting to bother me alot more than it did a week ago. I will keep everyone posted. :)

Maga would have loved you!! posted on 02/04/2009
Miss Rylee,
I just want you to know honey that there was a woman who would have loved you more than life. Your Great-Grandma "Maga" absolutely loved her family and would have welcomed you with open arms. Maga was energetic and full of life. She lost her battle to cancer at 74 on Jan 28th, 2009 and my heartaches knowing she will not be here on earth to witness your beauty and sweet spirit enter this world and grow into a wonderful young lady.
She was excited to know that I was expecting you. I told her the weekend our family left for the beach. We stayed at her house for the night and I broke the news. Her smile and bright blue eyes lit up the entire room. Knowing that she was going to have another Great-Grandbaby was probably the best gift we could have given her. You see....she loved her family and her world completely revolved around those she loved. You would have never known that she battled cancer for 2 1/2 years...her face and personality never let it show. She always put on a brave face for the family laughing and soaking up all the little moments she could. She was a wonderful lady. It is my promise to you that you will know who she was and how much she already loved you even before you were born.
I am postive that Maga will be both you and Presley's guardian angel. She will always be there for you sweetheart.
With Love ~ Mommy

Doctor's Appointment posted on 02/04/2009
I am currently 35 weeks 5 days pregnant today!! 9 months on Friday and I can't wait!!! I had my doctor's appointment this morning and everything checked out great! Rylee's heartbeat was a nice 148bpm. I didn't realize that I was going to be checked today to see how my progress was going. I thought that started next week...so I was a little surprised but excited to see if anything was beginning to change. Well....I am 1cm dilated and 25% effaced! YAY! The beginning has started which excited me because I have been feeling slight contractions/braxton hicks on and off the past month. Maybe she will decide to arrive early. We shall see. I can't wait to meet her.
My indigestion has been awful!! I think I am going to by stock in TUMS. This gives me hope that Rylee will have alot of hair. The ultrasound technician saw alot of hair at 26 weeks so if it holds true we will have a baby with tons of hair. Yippee!!
I have yet to begin swelling which is great....but I am not sleeping at all. Rylee is up all night and my back is causing me a lot of pain. At least my joints aren't hurting like last time. Praise the Lord.
My next appointment is Feb 12th. Will see if any has changed by then.
