Influenza B
posted on 02/19/2008

On Sunday I was hoping Nathan would be feeling some better by Monday.  Since I had the day off for President's Day, I had planned to take him for a day of fun to the science center and art center.  Well....his fever was at about 104 all Sunday night, even with Tylenol.

Monday was spent at the Dr and we found out he has Influenza B.  Apparently it is a more rare type of flu.  He isn't throwing up but he hurts all over and has a high fever.  It should last 7-10 days.  We caught it early enough that he was given Tamiflu which is why it should only last 7-10, if we had waited over 24 hours from onset then he would have been sick up to two weeks!!!!!

He always rubs his kisses in when ever anybody kisses him and yesterday he hurt so bad that his hands "wouldn't work" and he asked me to rub the kiss in after I gave it to him.  He was sooo sweet.

We are staying at my Mom's house because Will has surgery soon and we have to try very hard not to get him sick.  Nathan has Grandma Fraker's room fixed up as his party room.  He has a table for his food, balloons, his toy box, art supplies, etc.

He made a sign on the door that says "DO NOT ENTER...SECRET PARTY ROOM".  I made scary things like bats and ghosts to hang on the door also to scare anyone off.  We have a secret knock we have to use if we want to come in.

He is now taking the Tamiflu, Motrin every 6 hours and Tylenol every 3 hours.  That has kept his fever down and he is feeling much better.

This morning Nathan set a toy down by Will where he was sleeping and said he was just like Santa.  (of course, we had to sanitize it then before Will could touch it.)

Steve is will Mom today helping to take care of the boys.

All this time, Will has been just an angel.  He just smiles!!!
