The most important job int he world...
posted on 06/24/2008

On Sunday Steve's Mom had a party at her house out in the country for Uncle Mike's birthday.  Nathan and I decided to ride the bike out so I put a pillow in the bike carrier and some drink and snack and off we went...for about 2 blocks.  We had a flat tire, so I turned around and went back to air the tire up.  Who goes on their first bike ride of the year without checking to make sure their bike is ready to go???  Apparently me!

We had gone about a mile when we saw a car with a flat tire (what's with all the flat tires?)  About half way there Nathan says, (and he's yelling to make sure I can hear) "Mommy, when I grow up, I want to have the most important job in the world."  I asked him what that job would be and he said he wanted "to work at a gas station and fix cars.  He wanted to "help all the people who have flat tires because that would make them feel better."

He is my sweetheart.  I hope someday he does something that does help people feel better.  Whether it is fixing tires or playing the piano or telling jokes...I hope he is happy and can make other people happy too.

Will Will is doing a pretty good job walking these days.  5 or 6 steps across the room is no big deal for him now.  He thinks he is great and Nathan is so proud of him!
