Making Daddy proud...

Last night Steve went to watch our nephew wrestle. Being a former wrestler it is so exciting for him to go watch Mark and relive his days of youth. On the way home he was lamenting about how much he would miss Nathan and Will as they would be asleep when he got home. (He only got to see them for about 10 minutes before he left) We are rarely apart in the evenings and I knew it would be a hard evening for all of my boys. As he left, they waved out the window to eachother and then Nathan was on a mission.
He wanted to tidy up the house so Daddy would be proud of him when he got home. Nathan has been on a tidying up kick lately. I have two chairs angled and his mind sees that as out of sorts and so he constantly straightens them out to have their backs to the wall rather than angled into the corner. He picked up, vacuumed and changed the sheets on the bed. Then he was wiped out and fell fast asleep.
Fast forward to morning. Daddy was sleeping and Nathan just had to wake him up to get him out of bed so he could make the bed. It bothered him that Steve was sleeping under the covers and had messed up the bed. :)
The first thing Steve said as Nathan was laying on him cuddling him was, "Nathan, I am so proud of you for all the tidying up you did!" I didn't even have to remind Steve how much it meant to Nathan. Then of course, Will had to pile on and they were all three snuggling for a moment until Nathan insisted it was time to get up so they could make the bed!
By the way...Mark did a great job at his very first Varsity match. He lost to a super tough opponent, but Steve said he is going to be a good wrestler and is excited about the season ahead!
