John Robert's Second Birthday Party!!!

Today we celebrated John Robert's second birthday at a local park with a lot of his friends! We reserved a pavillion and had it decorated in lots of Thomas the Tank Engine decor. I made a Thomas cake, and after much trial and error, it turned out great! I was so excited! Check the August photo gallery for a pic.
The park had a playground where the kids spent time playing. Unfortunately, John Robert got knocked down by one of his friends in a swing, but it was my fault for not watching him closely enough. He recovered quickly enough to enjoy his Thomas cake! He did a great job blowing out the candle after we sang Happy Birthday. He loves that song, so we sang it twice. He is such a ham sometimes.
John Robert had hlep from several friends while opening his presents. They all wanted to get in on it--what kid wouldn't? He got lots of Thomas toys and books.
We are so grateful to the Lord for giving us friends here in Louisville that make being away from family a little easier during a special time like this!
