Another Extra Tooth :)

As many of you may know, in March 2008, John Robert fell and severely displaced his left front tooth, and we had to have it pulled. Seven months later, we discovered that he had an extra baby tooth growing in the empty space left by the tooth he lost! Isn't it amazing how the Lord provides!
Last Sunday night when I was brushing his teeth, I noticed a tooth breaking through behind his right front tooth. I called around Monday morning and found a pediatric dentist in Dothan that could see us on Wednesday. We were super pleased with our visit. Dr. Crowder said that the course of action right now is just to wait and see what happens. It is very rare to have an extra set of front baby teeth. When you have extra baby teeth, the roots of the original baby teeth tend to be weaker than normal. She said that he could just slightly bump it, and it may fall right out. Or, it may just get loose on its own like a normal baby tooth and fall out.
She said that if it does come out on its own or by accident, we will just leave the extra tooth alone, and his tongue should help push it forward into the place of his original front right baby tooth. If it does not come out, we will have to decide which one to pull--the original perfectly shaped baby tooth with very little root, or the oddly shaped second baby tooth with strong roots.
We go back to see Dr. Crowder in August (or before if his other tooth comes out) to determine what we are going to do to fix his precious mouth. She said that he could have even more extra teeth somewhere. Wouldn't that be an adventure! We trust that the Lord has already worked out the details, and we are just going to wait and see what happens!
