Bennett Mitchell Speck

Bennett is a spunky two year old and continues to be a true joy for all who know him.  His life is a gift from God.  Bennett spent 70 days in the Georgetown Univ. Hospital NICU due to a life-threatening infection and pneumonia from birth.  He spent 16 days on a heart-lung bypass procedure called ECMO and nearly died on the last day of ECMO due to horrific bleeding as a result of the highly necessary blood thinners he was on.  He has a Cerebral Palsy (CP) diagnosis, seizure disorder and reflux, and is gradually making positive progress in his development and motor skills.  Bennett spends lots and lots of time each week doing PT, OT, and speech therapy and lights up the world with his amazing giggle and smiles.
