Travis & Kelly,
Bennett has such a sweet, adoring face when he is watching you two. I know the thought of hearing his first cry will keep you awake tonight! But, rest now, because you will hear lots of cries later, I'm sure. My prayer is for Bennett to have a good night, as well. |

Hi Kelly,Travis & Baby Bennett This is Seth & Silas' "Granny Jo" in Cherokee.OK-- Stacie sent me your Caringbridge sight a few days ago but my computer has been acting up at times this summer so just today I managed to see the photos. With tears in my eyes I viewed each one. He is absolutely adorable! I was amazed that he looked so healthy even with all the tubes & machines around him. I'll be praying for the doctor consultation on Wednesday and for the other concerns you mentioned in the Journal. Even though I've just been able to be around you guys a few times ,you are very special to me. May God bless & keep you. Love in Christ.

Travis & Kelly,
From the beginning, I have been praying that God will heal Bennett of every trauma that his body has had to endure and present him perfect to you, as he was created to be. Perfect. Better than normal. I will continue to believe for that and pray for that, regardless of how the MRI looks at the moment.
Love,
LS |

Miracles happen every day. It's a blessing to hear that the nurses refer to Bennett as a miracle baby. Here's a story of another miracle baby who overcame breathing difficulties.
September 21, 2007, 5:38 pm
"Vanderbilt Doctors Perform Rare Surgery, Save Infant's Life"
By all accounts, Kendarius Stone is a miracle baby.
Yolanda Stone was three months pregnant with him when she was given terrible news.
She said, “As I understood it, there was no cure, I was carrying a dead baby.”
The baby had a rare defect, a missing trachea. In other words, he no airway and would not be able to breath once separated from the mother.
Neonatologist Dr. Bill Walsh had seen such undiagnosed babies at birth.
He said, “To have a baby who can’t breath cause no trachea and to be so hopeless to have to watch that baby die over next 30 minutes is terrible.”
Stone would not give up hope.
She said, “I said I know a God that knows different and that’s what I prayed on and I did my research.”
Her research led her to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where a team of 30 doctors and specialists, led by Dr. Ed Yang, Dr. Katherine Wenstrom and Dr. Walsh, were able to do a rare surgery.
They opened the mother's belly and put the infant on a breathing machine, all before the baby was separated from the mother's placenta.
Dr. Wang said, “His airway was missing so that's what we had to do, find his airway. We took our time and then put baby on air machine so nothing was rushed where if born, ordinarily would be chaotic.”
So far, Kendarius Stone is doing exceptionally well and was released Friday.
Doctors hope to reconstruct his airway within the year to allow him to live a normal life. |

| I am a friend of Nadine Maxwell, and I had a baby that spent 9 months in Vanderbilt's NICU. I would like to give some advise: Get some rest, play music at his bedside and you rest for when he is home. Let the nurses do their jobs, you rest and pray. Also, ask someone to sign him up for Tenncare. Noone told us about it until I had been out of work for 6 months and we had to take bankruptcy due to all the expenses. The good news: God has a plan for your family. It may come out what later in life, just continue to have faith. Take it day by day, and know you have a huge family praying for your family. If there is anything you need from Nashville or just someone to talk to please email. I've been there, and I wished someone would have told me these things. My situation made me stronger, but I still don't know why we had to deal with it. God gives us duties we just have to obey. Trust him. Much love and prayers. Brenda |

Yess...Bennett needs to get better with bottle feeding so he can eat Taco Bell with Mommy in a few years! (NO, I am never going to let you forget the lunchtime runs to Taco Bell!) :-)
SO glad to hear he continues to be stable and overall restful. I am also glad that the day for talking with the neurologist is getting closer...I'm sure it will be a relief to get that meeting underway and out of the way.
Much love to all of you!! Here is to another day of recovery for cutie patooty Bennett! xoxo |

| It is wonderful to hear Bennett has less "Bennett Moments". He truly is a miracle and God's has shown his miracles and grace through him and both of you. I do believe God's sends angels to protect babies and stand guard with them. He watches over and protects them from all harm. Colleen will tell you I am big believer in Angels. I will pray for the specific things that you listed last night Kelly. I also pray for you strength and Travis also. This has been a joy and a journey for all of you. May God continue to be with Bennett may we have good news this week. See more miracles and witness for him.God will lead you thru this storm and to the other side for his glory. |
