We thought of you lots tonight as we were at small group. We definitely missed your presence and look forward to all three of you taking your places with us soon. We pray that today's testing has gone well, that it has not taken too much out of Bennett, and that the doctors and you are able to glean the information that is needed. We pray that the results show that your boy is being healed completely by our Father. We continue to pray for you daily. May this weekend provide you with treasured family time and sweet moments with your handsome little man. We love you!

In the message Bible it says "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." Matt. 6:34. This is easier said than done but hopefully you will be able to do this with how Bennett is doing each day.God is there for you three. Our prayers go with all you. May God heal Bennetts lung and make him healthy so he can go home with you. Love R/C

Thanks for the new pictures! I get SOOOO excited when you guys post new pictures...he is too sweet for words. I just want to smoosh him and hug him and love him up!!

He looks so good too - he must be feeling so much more comfortable. I hate to ask a stupid question but - is the infection still in his lungs, hence needing to have stuff suctioned out? Or is he past the infection and into strengthening his lungs?

Thanks again for the update on his ECMO neighbor - we all now know so much about this procedure that I think we get nervous any time we learn a new baby has to go through this. Yay for that family!!

Have a joyful and peaceful Friday. I hope the doctors have all good news to share. xoxo

Kelly and Trav - thanks so much for putting up the new pics of Baby B. He looks SO good and so healthy and so precious. I loved the picture of him yawning - like others have commented. Made me laugh out loud! How can you not want to kiss all over that sweet face all the time? We are lifting your family up today. We will be praying at 2pm, your time. We are praising God for all that He has done - and praying for Him to completely heal Bennett. Lifting you two up as well - prayers for strength, energy, joy, patience, and peace. On my way to Chapel - praise day. I'll be singing my heart out for you two, praising our Father.

Travis and Kelly,
Oh what a joy to see new pictures of Bennett. He has gotten so big and looks SO healthy.....just like a brand new baby that God has created so perfectly!

We will be praying fervently especially around 2pm today when you meet with "the team" and discuss Bennett's care. We are so happy that you have such wonderful family moments with Bennett. Despite his rough start, what a joy and blessing your time has been with him.

We love you and are just beside ourselves with joy and thanks to the Father for your journey so far.

Hugs and kisses,

Keith, Kelly, Conner and Alaina

Miracles happen every day around the world. We continue to pray for Bennett's miracle.

The story below mentions how the parents of this baby boy are helping others with their inspiring story. It reminded me of you two. You're inspiring so many of us with your spiritual strength.

Little Mark is a miracle baby
19 September 2007 | 07:15
THERE were times when Sharon and Keith Eley-Smith feared the odds were so stacked against them that they would never have the baby they longed for.

But - after a decade of trying, Sharon's dramatic loss of 11 stone to pave the way for IVF treatment, and the shattering news she had cervical cancer - their precious son Mark was born two months premature, weighing only 3lbs 11ozs.

The tot needed a lumber punch on the day he was born, was treated for meningitis and became jaundiced, needing photo-therapy under a lamp.

As he was so premature, he had not developed his swallowing reflex and was initially fed through a tube through his nose. He became so anaemic at one point that his parents had to consider a blood transfusion before his body “kicked back” and produced more red blood cells.

But, after a week in an incubator and six weeks in Ipswich Hospital, Keith and Sharon were finally able to bring their baby back home to Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich.

And now he is a healthy baby, weighing 9lbs 2ozs - and is set to become a minor celebrity tonight when his parents' story is shown on Inside Out on BBC 1.

Sharon, 38, said: “Some people questioned why we did the BBC programme, as it's so personal, but in a weird way it was fantastic. It got us through the difficult emotions, gave us a focus - it was a welcome distraction to know that our story might help others. It was a hell of an experience.”

The “experience” began in 2004 when Keith, now 41, and Sharon began to realise they were having trouble conceiving naturally.

At 21stone 11lbs Sharon needed to lose weight to make her eligible for IVF. But just as she was doing well with the diet Lighter Life, she found out she had cervical cancer.

Because she wanted a family, surgeons managed to cut the cancerous cells away, avoiding the need to have a full hysterectomy, which would have made pregnancy impossible.

Sharon said: “One thing drove another and my friends said they couldn't believe that I was so focused. But I had to be or I would have fallen apart. You go into autopilot.

“When I was told I just thought, 'no, you can't come along and do this to me now'. But in an ironic way, although I couldn't believe it was happening, by the same token I was so pleased that it was operable and had been got in time.”

Sharon, who kept a video diary of her dieting, lost a total of 11 stones in nine months. It paved the way for the couple, married since 1990, to start IVF at the world-famous Bourn Hall clinic, Cambridgeshire.

But the first attempt proved successful and, after a blood test on December 19, the couple got the news they had been waiting so long for - a positive pregnancy result.

“We did not know how to contain ourselves,” Sharon said. “It was a Christmas we will never forget. We wanted to go out to the street and shout it to the world.”

The picture of Bennett yawning just melted our hearts - he is too cute!

We're sure that the meeting this afternoon will go well - we'll be thinking of you! And we're continuing to pray for Bennett's complete recovery!
