comment by Sarah T on 09/17/2007 So glad that you held Bennett through his sleeping routine. I bet having mommy hold him and then having a good poop (did I use the "right" word, sorry "passage") at the end of his nap was the best he felt all day. You know how mommy's touch and mommy's good milk is so full of healing power. Plus, the power of a praying mommy is exponential. I will also pray the "just like new." I know heaven and the saints smile everytime you hold him and pray in his sweet little ears. I am always amazed how close to heaven I feel when holding my new little guys- So pure and angelic, just knitted together by God. And praise God that he has heard our prayers and continues to do so. Keep trusting-"If you wake me each morning with the sound of your loving voice, I'll go to sleep each night trusting in you." Ps 143:8
Hugs and Kisses,
Sarah, Kevin, P and L

comment by b and g on 09/17/2007 As our day is drawing to a close, we give thanks to our Lord for the many blessings we have been given today. We pray to our Lord for the continued healing of Bennett, that his lungs grow stronger, that his blood gases remain stable, that the infection in his lungs be removed, and that no seizure activity be detected. We know that thru our Lord ALL things are possible. We ask God to watch over Bennett as he sleeps tonight and that HE continue to give insight to the medical staff. We are thankful for the phyicians, nurses, and staff anticipating Bennett's needs even before he requires their assistance...always vigilant. We know the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. Psalm 32:10

It is awesome to read how well Bennett is doing and the improvement he has made over the last 7 days. We continue to pray that his lungs continue to strengthen and his dependence on other support lessens. Have a great night and we continue to pray for the two of you as well.

comment by the Bynums on 09/17/2007 Its great to hear that Bennett is acting like a normal baby, even though his fits are a little inconvenient for the ventilator. Just keep thinking of the day when he pulls the intubation tube out and the MD decides he doesn't have to put it back in! that will be a glorious day!

comment by christy on 09/17/2007 Little Bennett,
We love to hear about your sweet moments. I know your mommy just wants to eat you right up! I know you must've enjoyed your special time with her today. Keep resting up and getting stronger - we love you!

comment by Colleen & Phil on 09/17/2007 We are so THRILLED that Bennett and mommy got lots of time together today and that Bennett's day was better than his night. I am sure he enjoyed being in his mom's arms as much as you enjoyed holding your precious son. He is so beautiful! We are praying heavily for his sweet little lungs to completely heal. May all three of y'all have a peaceful night of sleep and be surrounded by all the prayers being sent up to heaven for y'all. God please continue to heal sweet Bennett completely and bring him home to Kelly and Travis!
We love y'all!!

comment by grammie on 09/17/2007 Dearest Bennett,
You are 4 weeks old today! How we long to pick you up and take you home! It is SO hard to wait. You are the most beautiful baby in the world and we thank God for you! We love watching your every move. It is so cute how you wiggle your feet out from under your blanket. Tonight your big blue eyes were wide open, taking in all the sights from your crib in the NICU. I think you may be a night owl like your Mommy! Sweet dreams precious little one. We love you with all of our hearts.

comment by Amy Bowman on 09/17/2007 Travis & Kelly,
We're so thankful for Bennett's continued healing. Last night Andy & I were talking about how when Bennett's a teenager he's going to be so sick of all of us talking about his time in the NICU, how we all prayed for him, and what a miracle he is!

comment by Jodi Weier on 09/17/2007 Reading about baby Bennett and your journey of faith is truely a reminder the power of our Lord in his healing power. You have both been blessed with this precious gift delivered from his hands to care for him. I am so very happy to see Bennett make such great strides to getting better as well as your unending faith. It is truely a blessing to see and to follow with you. God bless you all

comment by LindaSue on 09/17/2007 Travis & Kelly,
It's been several days since I've been able to leave a note, but I check your site just as often as I can, and I pray several times a day...My best friend, Becky, is here for a long weekend (from Dallas), and we have prayed together for Bennett, and will continue to do so...we have both been praying separately, but I think our prayers are more potent when we can pray together. Our God is a Big God, and He is Able, and I believe He Will!!!
Love you both,
LS

comment by Lynley on 09/17/2007 Nothing brings greater joy and peace than holding your child while he sleeps. I am so glad you got to experience this today. We continue to pray for sweet Bennett's lungs to heal completely! By the way, he looks quite comfy and cozy in his blue sleeper...too precious!

comment by Katherine & Nelson on 09/17/2007 Nelson asked to check on baby Bennett before we went to fix dinner - so we did! We're so glad to hear that he had a restful and productive day after the scare last night. We're still praying so hard for Bennett to be "all better!"

comment by Suzannah on 09/17/2007 I know how you must have enjoyed holding your sweet sleeping baby boy. We will continue to pray for a complete recovery.

comment by Bill and Jan on 09/17/2007 Reading your journal has been such a walk of faith for us. We realize how much we take so many of the everyday "little things" with our children/grandchilden for granted. Our faith and prayer time has been strengthened not only by your example, but by the example also of so many of your friends, family, and Christians all over who have responded to Bennett's need. We are reminded that our timetable is not God's and that His Way is so much greater than what we can even imagine. We rejoice that each day brings increased signs that Bennett's body is healing - even with the upsets! Our prayers continue. Love you!
