Our visit to Rochester, NY!

Caden had such a great time going to visit Mary, Jason, Benjamin and Otis in New York! He did very well on the plane rides....his favorite word is now airplane! It took five rides in the airplane total round trip. Caden now says "five airplanes"....it is so adorable. He absolutely loved the trip, time with friends and also the Strong Museum that had Sesame Street. He is growing up so quickly and speaks in sentences now. He is trying new words and strings of words everyday.
Caden had a great time with baby Benjamin and we look forward to seeing them again in a few weeks back in NJ!!

Okay...so it has been a long time since I journaled about sweet Caden, but there is a reason :) Caden is going to be a big brother in January! This pregnancy has been much different then the first, but I still have plenty of time to enjoy Caden!
It is so hard for me to remember all the new things he is doing b/c there are so many....here are a few for you.
Caden has learned how to jump...he loves to jump off and onto everything. It is so adorable! He says "1-2-3 JUMP". We love it!
He can sing most of the alphabet song and knows lots of letters. His favorite song to sing is Bob the Builder. It is so adorable. Caden's favorite thing to sing about and talk about is still construction vehicles. He knows more vehicles then you can imagine. (Excavators, Backhoes, Roller, Grader, Front Loader, Tractor,Crane truck...Need I go on?)
Caden can count to 20 in addition to saying that he is 21 months old...when asked! He also loves to hold up 1 finger to tell you that he is one year old. I LOVE IT! The one looks like the letter L because he hasn't learned how to hold back his thumb for the number one :)
Language development has taken off! He is talking in sentences and can repeat just about any words you say....you can't always make out what he is saying but MOST of the time you can :) Some of his favorites are "Mommy sit down" near his train table to play or "Mommy get up"....you can tell how much I have been resting :)
His favorite toy at home is his thomas train table. He can play with that all day long (especially if someone plays with him). He knows all the trains by name and what they do...hilarious! Of course there are construction vehicle trains on that table :)
I know this isn't everything, but a good start to keeping up with the development of our precious gift, Caden!

Oh how much Caden has grown and developed since the last entry :) I have been too busy enjoying him instead of noting the milestones! Caden is running, climbing, throwing balls and all the other physical things that toddlers his age love to do! He is B-U-S-Y!!!
He has learned how to sing the alphabet song and plug in missing letters as you stop. For instance, his favorite letter is S! You will say Q-R and he will scream "S"! It is adorable! He can also count to 10 on his own and say numbers up to twenty! Probably b/c he just turned twenty months :)
Caden is doing so much new stuff that I can't even remember it all, however, I can promise you that I am not taking a day for granted! I am enjoying the blessing that the Lord has given us. We often take walks all the way to the end of the street and he holds my hand. If I could freeze-frame this time I would....

Caden loves backhoes and every other type of machinary. He can name all the types and knows better than me what they look like! There is a backhoe at the end of our street and we must walk down daily to see it :)
Also, there has been construction on firetower rd since we moved to greenville. It has been a nuisance for so long until a few months ago. There are all types of machinary being used daily on this road and now our family has free entertainment! We drive up and down the road so Caden can watch the machines in action! "WHOA" he screams from the back seat!

Caden had a great time with an easter egg hunt at our house! He had some of his closest buddies over to hunt for eggs, dye eggs and enjoy yummy treats :) All of the kids were so cute looking for the eggs! Caden already tried to pick up the eggs in the front yard before the party so when the egg hunt started.....Caden cried really loud! We have it on video :) He thought he wasn't allowed to hunt for the eggs! Anyways, Caden knew there was candy in all the eggs so he tried to stop at one egg to open it up and eat the candy. It was hilarious! There is nothing cutier than watching little kids run around a yard looking for bright colored eggs...this tradition will live on each year!

Caden newest thing is Trucks and School Buses! He loves them! Every time we are in the car he says, "Whoa" a "truck or bus", etc. It is so cute. He face lights up! Caden is ALL BOY!!

Caden learned how to blow bubbles last night! We got it on videotape...it is adorable! The funny thing is that he blows bubbles with his exhale out of his nose. It is absolutely hilarious. He puts the wand up to his nose and blows out...bubbles go everywhere :) Caden was so proud of himself last night and we must admit we were proud of him too!

Mommy and Caden had such an amazing day today! We mixed finger paints out of flour, water and food coloring! We first used the color blue and finger painted on wax paper. Of course, Caden wanted to make "Geen". He had a blast mixing the paints, pouring them on the paper and then running his fingers through all the paint!
I am sure many of you that know Mommy well are thinking, "She let him play with paint?" OH YES...the Lord is changing Mommy in ways that she never would have imagined. Caden is such a joy and seeing his face light up with joy as we got super messy was fun! However, there is some of Mommy in Caden as he got real upset when he recognized the paint wasn't coming off his fingers without washing his hands. Then, the rest of the day he was wondering why there was still paint on our fingers :) Gotta love it!
