Hallejuah Festival & Halloween
posted on 10/29/2009

For Halloween Mya's costume is a lamb!!  It's a one piece zip up costume with an attched hooded hat, she loved the ears and the hooves.  Mya and I along with my co-worker went to the base chapel for a Hallejuah festival.  There were tons of low up houses, mini pony rides, games and food.  Mya didn't know what to think of all those kids dressed up in all types of costumes.  She was brave enough to sit on the mini pony and go for a ride.  She seemed to be enjoying herself.  And can you believe Mya sit still long enough to have her face painted!  She had a little pumpkin painted on her cheek, it was precious.

For Halloween we were traveling to New Jersey so Mya wasn't able t go trick-or-treating this year. But next year, she will be ready for sure.  I was able to pick up a cute toddler pirate costume on clearance for next year.  I think she will be so cute.

Mya's Picnic Lunch
posted on 09/24/2009

Mya had and old fashion picnic at school today and luckily Grandma and Pappy were in town and able to attend. It was cute to see all the little kids sitting at the little table and chairs eating thier bologna sandwhiches and drinking thier milk. It was a sight to be seen. Mya seemed to have fun, she loved that we were there to visit. She didn't want to sit at her seat to eat lunch, she wanted to visit with her grandparents instead.

School Pictures

Can you believe that daycare has school pictures?  I'd never heard of such a thing.  But it is a cute idea and of course we had her pictures taken.  She wore a cute little pink and grey flowered top and matching pink leggings w/ her hair in piggy tails.  I can't wait for the pictures to come back, I just know they will be cute!

One Year Class
posted on 08/31/2009

Today Mya started her 1st day in the one year class.  Of course she is the youngest therefore she isn't as quick or expierenced as the others, but that didn't seem to bother her at all.  After I dropped her off she took off running to play with the boys.  From the looks of it she is adjusted quite well to the toddler room.

I'm excited for her to be in this class because they help work on manners, routine and cups/utensils.  Every half an hour the class has something that they do i.e. eat, brush teeth, take naps, art work etc and it is the same everyday.  It's nice that Mya gets on an actual schedule instead of just playing all the time.  It truly does mean she is growing up!

It's Party Time!!
posted on 08/29/2009

Today was the big 1st birthday celebration.  It was so good to see all the family together and for us all to get the chance to visit and enjoy Mya together. Both Derrick and my families were together visiting for the first time, it was a site to be seen.

Her birthday party was a cookout with a lot of great food and some wonderful birthday cake from Grandma Tina.  Mya loved eating her smash cake.  After she got the hang of it she was such a mess.  She was a good party girl all day; loved opening her gifts and loved the water play at the end of the night.

It's hard to believe our baby girl is a year old.  They always say that time flies when you are having fun.  I can honestly say that not a day has passed by where I havent had fun.  Thanks to all that shared with us Mya's special day!

I realized she isn't a baby anymore ...
posted on 08/24/2009

Today I was picking up Mya at school like I always do and the sight I saw almost brought tears to my eyes. Mya has been going into her "new" class periodically to help her with her transition to the one year old class.  She will be offically in her new class starting on Monday, August 31.

When I walked into the room today the room was filled with the laughter and noise of about 8 one year olds.  The teacher had the bubble machine blowing all over the kids and they were one by one trying to jump around and pop the bubbles as they filled the air.  In the midst of all that excitement there was our Mya, my Mya was standing tall, bouncing around trying to get her share of bubbles to pop. She was laughing and pointing at the bubbles that were popping on her fingertips.  It was one of those innocent moments that I will never forget.  It was in that moment that I realized, my baby is no longer classified as a baby, she is a toddler!  Needless to say she was having so much fun with her new friends, she cried when we had to leave.

Dogs, Dogs, Dogs
posted on 08/22/2009

Tonight we went to our friends house for dinner and Mya was playing with thier two dogs, Layla and Harper.  Both dogs tower over her but she didn't care she loved the attention.  She would go to thier toy bin and grab toys in which they would come and take them from her, then come back for whatever it was next she had in her hands.  She even ran around the back yard while Layla was playing catch with her daddy.

Yes, both puppies loved giving Mya kisses.  She would walk towards them and then when they came her way she's run away all the while they met up with her with kisses.  All three of the "babies" were fun to watch.  So, is it time to get a DOG?
