Mya eats a BUG
posted on 07/14/2009
Yep, you read it right, Mya ate her 1st bug. Well, the first that we know of. Mya was at school today and her friend Elysa's mom noticed that she was chewing (and it wasn't time to eat) so she grabs Mya and does a mouth scoop with her finger and what do you know, she pulls out a bug. By this time Mya had been chewing on this bug for who knows how long so the type of bug Mya was chewing on is unknown. I have alot of possibilities flowing through my head and all of them are gross to think about. I'm pretty sure it won't be her last expierence with eating something that isn't common. The things that she does has everyone laughing!

Mya's first 4th of July was spent splashing in the pool and enjoying some great food at a small BBQ. Of course Mya was the star of the show because everyone was amazed that she was already walking. Mya's first 4th of July was a very nice relaxing holiday!

Mya took her first trip to Ohio and had a great time. She loved spending all the quatlity time with Pappi and Grandma. She had a lot of first while we were out of town. Mya started offically walking and starting waving hi/bye and clapping her hands. Mya now has 4 teeth and is walking all over the house as if she owns the place. I can't believe how big she is getting and how fast time has passed.

Mya has a little push cart that she pushes in front of her. She walks like a pro with her toy, I just know she will be walking on her own before long. Wow and she isn't even 9 months yet (okay, so she will be in 10 days).
And in her walker she has started walking all over the place. You leave her alone in the kitchen and she comes in the dining room to find you. Derrick was cleaning up something off the floor and she rolled right over to him to see what he was doing, as if she was going to help him clean up! She is such the busy body.

Mother's Day this year was spent driving in the car from Daytona Beach, Florida to Georgia. We were in FL visiting family and attending our cousins college graduation. It was nice to be with family and friends on a special day like Mother's day. We all had breakfast and then went shopping for a little bit before heading on the road.
Thanks to Mya and Molly for the beautiful charm bracelet and the peridot earrings, I love them.

The month of April at Mya's school was all about different cultures. Each classroom was assigned a different culture and the students were taught accordingly. Mya's classroom learned about the country of India. Throughout the month they made India influenced "artwork", read books about India and listened to Indian music. The last day of the month the entire school put on a cultural parade for the parents. Mya's and her classmates wore head scarves and skirts. They also made thier own shirt with thier foot and hand prints. It was the cutest little parade I'd ever seen.

Today we went over to Mya's BFF's house and the girls went swimming (in a baby pool), they had so much fun! At first Mya was a little cautious but soon after Elysa kept splashing water on her, Mya figured it out. She then started to enjoy herself and started splashing, laughing and trying to get out. She thought is was fun to lean over the pool and pick the grass then put it in the water. The girls had a great time playing in the pool and both took a nap soon after. So needless to say, bathtime at home these days is so much fun. Mya splashes and tries to swim all around.

Looks like a few weeks ago when Miss Mya was sick, she was teething. She now has 2 teeth coming in on the bottom front. Our little girl is getting so big!
