Uncle Johnathan comes to Visit
posted on 12/30/2008

While passing through Georgia on his way to Miami, Uncle Johnathan and his friends decided to spend the night with us and visit for a little while.  This was a great visit because Mya and Uncle Johnathan met for the very first time.  She stared at him for a little while at first, he is the first person she has met that has had facial hair.  She was intrigued you could say.  Uncle Johnathan helped out and feed Mya while I did other things, he is so good with kids.  The visit was short lived but much appreciated.  Soon we have to make a trip up to Cincinnati so that Mya can meet Uncle Ronnie.  He's the last of the Hatfield Clan to meet her.

One Year Ago ... Big Fat Positive!
posted on 12/26/2008

One year ago today was for sure one of the BEST days of our lives.  On Dec 26. 07 at about 0930, Derrick and I found out that we were expecting our first child.  You can not imagine the emotions that followed that amazing phone call.  That is one phone call we will never forget (thanks Jackie).  Life from that point on has never and will never be the same for us.  We have been so blessed in our lives and continue to thank God for the amazing oppurtunites he's given us.

A special Thank You to our many friends and family who have helped us get to this point in our lives.  Your friendship and love will always be in our hearts.

And to all my IF girls .... keep hoping and holding on, your day is coming.  I couldn't have gone through and overcame any of this without you.  I'll love you forever.

Mya's 1st Christmas
posted on 12/25/2008

Today was Mya's 1st Christmas and what a wonderful day it was.  She started her celebration early with a 730 wake up call.  Then we noticed the Christmas tree was full of Santa's goodies and her stocking was graciously over flowing.  Mya spent her 1st Christmas playing on the floor and watching Molly play with her new toys.  The day was perfect, I couldn't have imagined it any other way.

Mya recieved so many nice presents from our family and friends. Thank you to everyone for celebrating with us Mya's first Christmas.

BubbleGirl
posted on 12/19/2008

Today when I picked Mya up from school she showed me a new trick she had learned.  She makes a face that looks like a monkey, then gathers all the spit in her mouth and starts making bubbles.  But that isn't all ... Once she has the bubbles on her lips she spits.  Yep, horrible habit to have but I will be the first to admit it is pretty darn cute to see her in action.  I love it!

Rolling, Rolling. Rolling
posted on 12/02/2008

Today, 01.02.09 Mya decided she is going to roll all over the floor.  She plays on her activity mat and plays, plays, and plays.  She kicks her feet and grasps at all her toys that hang above her.   I'll lay her on the floor and glance back over at her and she has rolled over a few times and is in a completely different spot.  It is amazing what she can do already at 4 months old.  Of course I've been trying to get this all on tape but by the time I flipped her over and go to get the camera she has already moved.  Hmm ... guess I've got to be quicker!

The History of the Holiday Dress
posted on 11/29/2008

For Thanksgiving my mom and sister in law came down to visit.  One of the things my mom brought was my very 1st Christmas dress (that my Aunt Susan had made) that I wore when I was 6 months old.  Yeah it is the original dress.  We had a little photo shoot of Mya in my Christmas dress and I must say if fit her perfectly.  She was such a good sport for the pictures until out of nowhere she spits up.  My mom loved seeing Mya in my dress because it had come full circle for her.  To see her 1st daughter in it and then 29 years later to see her 1st granddaughter in the same dress, yep, she teared up.  I'm so thankful that my mom saved my dress and that we were able to share in the memory.

Turkey Day - Gobble Gobble
posted on 11/27/2008

Mya enjoyed her 1st Turkey Day surrounded by family. She was such a good sport while we prepared the meal and cleaned up afterwards.  She played so good by herself while we were busy getting things ready.  But since there was family in town visiting, Mya wasn't left unattended too often. She loved the company and I'm pretty sure she had a great Thanksgiving.  Derrick and I have so much to be Thankful for this holiday season, Mya being on the top of that list!

3 Months Already
posted on 11/27/2008

Today Mya is 3 months old. I can't believe where the time has gone. She is still so tiny that I can't believe she has been here this long. You know what they say, time flies when you are having fun.  Everyday she does something new and melts my heart all over again.  I can't believe how far we've come in a year ... God is so good.

Also early this morning my cousin Lysa had her baby. Mya's cousin was born exactly 3 months after she was.  I can't wait to have Ava and Mya meet each other.
