Growth Chart
Date Weight Length
08/11/2009 27 lbs. 1 oz. 35.25 in.

David saw Dr. Rabinowitz today. He said David looks good, but he's a little concerned about his talking and thinks he's just a little behind. David doesn't put two words together, and he doesn't say many words, but he does understand almost everything that we say. If we are looking at a book and ask him to point to something on the page, he's usually pretty good about pointing to the correct picture.

David can say Mama, Miriam (mum), ball, water, please, cheese, Daddy, more, eat, go, yes, no, and he kinda says up and down.

05/28/2009 25 lbs. 9 oz. 32 in.

David finally went to the doctor again! He got 3 shots. One of them was for chicken pox, so I guess he won't have to get them like the rest of us did!

07/16/2008 17 lbs. 14 oz. 29 in.

Dr. Platt was gone today, so David saw a different doctor. Apparently, they sent out cancellation letters, but we never got one. Oh well!

David's height is about the 25th percentile, but his weight is lower than the percentile chart for his age, haha. The doctor said that whole milk would be a good idea for him, and I told him that David switched to it about 2 weeks ago, and the doctor said that probably helped the 1 1/2 lb weight gain over the past 3 months. We have a scale at home that I weigh David on occasionally. He's gained about a pound just since we started the whole milk, so the extra fat and calories from that are good. I've noticed him getting a little heavier.

We got a copy of his Chester Clinic record to take to Dr. Mathews in St. Louis. David has to get his 12 months shots in about 3 or 4 weeks, so we'll be making an appointment for him to see her once we get our Missouri Medicaid information. Adam will most likely be the one taking David to appointments this year. He'll have a lot more flexibility in his schedule, most likely.

04/29/2008 16 lbs. 6.5 oz. 28.25 in.

Dr. Platt said David is looking good and healthy. David has a few eczema-like dry spots on his shoulders, elbows, and ribcage, which he has had off and on for the past month. Dr. Platt said we should start applying lotion twice a day. David sees Dr. Platt one more time before we move back to St. Louis.

04/02/2008 16 lbs. 1 oz. 27.5 in.

David got weighed and measured at the WIC office today. He's not growing very fast at this point, but I think that's pretty normal for his age. They grow the fastest in those first 6 months, and when they get more mobility the growth slows down for a little while, I think. His weight was in the 5-10 percentile range, and his height was in the 20-30 percentile range, if I remember correctly.

02/05/2008 15 lbs. 7 oz. 27.25 in.
David's height is now in about the 70th percentile and his weight is in about the 20th percentile. He's still long and lean! Dr. Platt said he was looking good.

12/03/2007 13 lbs. 8.25 oz. 25 in.
Today David saw Dr. Platt at the Chester Clinic for the first time. He's in about the 50th percentile for height and about the 25th percentile for weight. Dr. Platt said it is good for babies to have this type of height to weight ratio, because they are more likely to be healthier and not overweight later in life. Everything looked good and he's a happy, healthy little boy! Good guessing to those who correctly guessed his weight in the last poll!

10/09/2007 11 lbs. 2 oz. 23 in.
David is in the 25th percentile right now. The doctor said he looks good! He got 4 shots and cried when he got them, then was kinda crabby for the next 24 hours.

09/19/2007 10 lbs. 6 oz. 22 in.
David had his kidney ultrasound today. On a scale of 0-4, 0 being a perfect kidney, 4 being super serious, David's are at about a 1 maybe 2. The doctor said at that grade it rarely ever gets worse. Probably the worst that could happen is a urinary tract infection, and since circumcised males don't really ever get UTI's, David is pretty much perfectly normal.

08/06/2007 6 lbs. 12 oz.

David's second doctor's appointment went well. Last Monday he'd only been 6lbs after his hospital discharge. He gained 12oz in one week, and the doctor was happy with that. He doesn't need to be seen by Dr. Mathews until he's 2 months old, since he's regulary filling his diapers and eating. I'm sure he'll get some immunizations at that time.

We still need to call the urologist and see when they want to see him to re-ultrasound and check his kidney again. David's been on preventative antibiotic since we were discharged from the hospital, and he's been really good about taking it every evening.

07/26/2007 6 lbs. 9 oz. 20 in.
David was born at 11:00pm and he came out fairly pink. Becky was in labor for a little over 12 hours, and only pushed for about 45 minutes.

07/02/2007 5 lbs. 6 oz.
The level of amniotic fluid has not increased, though it has not decreased either. At this point in the pregnancy it should be higher, so Dr. Colton advises we induce labor at 38 weeks (which will be July 26th) because that is when amniotic fluid naturally decreases. So David will be born at the end of July, which is only 3½ weeks away!

06/18/2007 4 lbs. 10 oz.
The ultrasound we had today estimates that David is about 4lbs 10oz. He is measuring in the 44th percentile, so just a little smaller than average, but that's ok! It's easier to not have a really big baby! :-)
