We're having a fairly relaxing time up in St. Louis this weekend. We got to visit with Uncle Aaron for a few hours on Saturday, which was very nice. We're looking forward to spending a whole week in Kansas at the end of May/beginning of June!!
David has been fairly quiet and clingly during the chaos of the Wesche house. He's just in that separation anxiety phase where he's not comfortable being held by people he doesn't see on a regular basis (which tends to mean, people he sees like everyday!), so mom doesn't get any break from holding him all day, haha.
There's a new video on the link on the front page. David learned how to clap, so we got a little video of him clapping. We also took some pictures of him in Grandma & Grandpa Wesche's backyard today, so we'll be posting them tomorrow probably.

As you can see in the pictures, we finally got the piano moved to our house on Saturday morning. It's in pretty good shape. Seems in tune with itself at least, and only a few keys are chipped on the end. All the notes work well, though, so that's all that really matters!
David babbles with some consonants now. He says "mama" a lot, and sometimes I think he means me. So I'm sure he'll say "mama" before he says "dada". He doesn't crawl yet, but he's still rolling everywhere. He's been very clingy lately, which can be frustrating. I think he's got a few more teeth working their way up, but they aren't close enough to breaking through to know exactly which ones are coming.

We had a quilt made by a lady in the congregation here in Chester. Her name is Betty Congleton. She's made prize winning quilts in the state of Illinois, her quilts sell for hundreds of dollars, sometimes even over a thousand dollars in the church auction, and she offered to make us a quilt of our design at only the cost of the materials. We designed it after the painting on the ceiling of St. John of the twelve shields of the Apostles with a Trinitarian theme in the middle. We received it on Monday, and it is just awesome! There is a picture of it in the photos section of this website.
David is now able to sit up for long periods of time. He does it very well. He is also getting better at drinking water from a sippy cup, but he also just likes to play with it. David is eating a variety of the babyfood options. He is very good at picking up pieces of food to feed to himself. He is also now eating some 3rd foods, which have small, soft pieces of food to help to learn to chew. He's very good at the chewing motion, also.

David is 8 months old already. Time sure has gone by quickly. He's not crawling yet, and he hasn't gotten anymore teeth in the past month, but we can notice some changes. He starts to look at mom when other people are holding him, and he's not as happy to see strangers, which is anybody he doesn't see everyday!
He is still as cute as ever, though.

It's been so wet that we still have not gotten the piano. They have to pull the truck onto the ground in the backyard, so there's no way they can move it here with the ground so soft. Of course it rained all day today, so it'll just be postponed even more.
David, of course, is just as cute as ever and getting cuter all the time. Yesterday he had fallen asleep when I was feeding him on the couch. Since he could roll off the couch, I placed him and the boppy pillow on the floor, as I've done a few times. I went into the kitchen to work on my latest sewing project (since I got a sewing machine!!) and then I heard him making noise as he had woken up. I went into the other room and he was halfway underneath the couch face first. His head and his arms were underneath the couch. Somehow, whether by crawling or rolling (most likely rolling since we haven't really seen him crawl) he got under there. Silly boy has a thing with being underneath things, as he's almost always going under the coffee table when he plays on the floor.

David has his 2 bottom front teeth now. Getting the second tooth wasn't nearly as hard on David as getting his first tooth. One thing he's started recently is not wanting to go to sleep alone. Saturday night he cried for 2 or 3 hours after sleeping the first 30 minutes after bedtime because he didn't want Mom to leave the room. It was very frustrating because he robbed himself of sleep when he was obviously tired, simply because I was not going to stand up there holding his hand forever! He really likes to roll around and reach for toys and try to get to things that look interesting. Just look at some of the pictures in the March 2008 gallery of him getting underneath tables and sofas. It's pretty funny.

David's very first tooth broke through yesterday. He wasn't his normal self on Saturday, and then Sunday he was pretty fussy. He had a fever of 101.2 and he slept almost all day until 5pm. We knew he wasn't feeling well when he was sleeping during the day! I can't tell if the other bottom front tooth is working its way up, too, but as soon as the one tooth broke through the gums his fever went away and he went back to normal. He was very playful today. Good guessing in the last poll. The majority answers for getting his first tooth were 6 1/2 months and 7 months, so it was right in between.

Nothing much going on here lately. We got our taxes done and are getting a huge refund, which is awesome. We only ended up owing $338 in federal taxes after all our deductions, which part of David's child tax credit covered, so we got back everything we paid in plus the $662 leftover from the child tax credit. A member in the congregation was talking to Adam last week about a piano he was thinking about donating to the school. Adam told him how his wife had been wanting a piano for like forever, so since the school and church have like 6-8 pianos already, we're getting an upright piano! One more big piece of furniture to move, though. There's an adorable new video on the video link on the homepage. David was playing "peek-a-boo". I'm sure he'll melt your hearts! :)
