The ultrasound that I had yesterday at my doctor's appointment was done to determine how much the baby has grown. My belly measurement at my last appointment was more than how many weeks pregnant I was at the time. Dr. Colton wanted to make sure I wasn't having too big of a baby, since I had failed the first test for glucose tolerance. Even though I passed the second test and therefore do not have gestational diabetes, the doctor just wanted to be sure about the baby's size. The baby is measuring around the 40th percentile, so definitely not too big. However, my stomach is 34 cm, and I'm 32 weeks pregnant, so he said that the baby is probably just sitting high right now.

The ultrasound tech couldn't get any good pictures of the baby because he/she is in the right position for delivery: head down and facing my back, so we couldn't see the face at all. We know he/she has one, though, because we've seen it before. Wink

David learned how to "help" with dishes last weekend. He made a big puddle of water on the chair and the floor, but he had lots of fun.

I forgot to write last week after we went bowling with the ladies that I work with. Our manager likes to bowl with bumpers, so we had bumpers up on both lanes. Adam and I figured David could play if the bumpers are up. We'd take him up to the beginning of the lane and help him push the ball down the lane. He got a 47 on his first game. Halfway through the second game he was getting antsy and just wanted to run around, so he didn't finish his second game. Adam and I both got between 110 and 150 for both of our games. The bumpers definitely helped me, haha.

David doesn't feel well. He has a fever of 101 degrees and he just wants to sleep. When he's awake he's fussy and he sounds hoarse. It came on suddenly early this afternoon, really. He was perfectly normal this morning when he woke up and we were feeding him breakfast and getting him ready to go to Aunt Laura's house to play with his cousins. He was being his usual silly self this morning.

Aunt Laura said that David didn't feel like eating lunch, he wanted to go take his nap. When he woke up he was crying and had a 101 temperature. She called us to let us know, so Adam left work to go take him home. He took another nap from 4:30 to 6 something. I got him out of bed for a little while to make sure he'd sleep all night, and since he would need another dose of Tylenol. He was not happy about that.

Hopefully he's just teething. He has yet to get his canines, so it could be that. We'll just have to wait and see. If he's just as bad tomorrow we'll probably need to figure out where we can take him to get him looked at. We don't have a primary care physician for him at the moment. His insurance is switching starting the 13th so he can go see the pediatrician that saw him when he was born. Until then, I'm not sure where we'd take him. Maybe one of those Walgreens clinic things, or something.

David slept until 8:30am this morning!!! It was nice being able to actually sleep in on a Saturday. Wednesday night/Thursday morning he woke up at 4:40am and wanted to be held, and then wouldn't go back to sleep, so Adam and I were really tired on Thursday! I even went out to my car during my lunch hour to take a nap that day! Thursday night he woke up at 10pm and did almost the same thing, but I was able to get him to lay down and go back to sleep after about 15 minutes. So it was nice to just get a full night's sleep last night!

Adam and I went to the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra last night. They played Britten, Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff. The baby moved around quite a bit during the show. Although, the baby moved around at 4:30am when I woke up to go to the bathroom, and moved when I woke up at 8:15am. I'm thinking this baby may end up moving more than David did, but that's ok, they're all different.

Happy New Year! We're having fun out in Olathe, KS this weekend. We're enjoying seeing Aaron, Amy, Ella, Amy's mom Marion, and the new little Caleb. He's going to be baptized on Sunday, and we get to be godparents again. We're pretty excited. It's nice to spend a few days relaxing and not working.

David's cousin Caleb was born this morning! Cousin Ella has a little brother! Amy did great, didn't even get an epidural and didn't need a C-section this time, and was only in labor for like 10 hours. We can't wait to see him in two weeks when we go to Olathe, KS for New Year's Eve weekend!

I'm staying home with David today. We've gotten a little bit of snow, not that that would keep me from going to work. I'm not afraid to drive in the snow, it's other people driving in the snow that I'm afraid of! But that's not why I stayed home. David had kind of a rough day at Grandma's yesterday, and he was very warm this morning. His temperature was 99 degrees when I was changing his clothes this morning, and he was pretty fussy. I think he may be teething again, so I figured we'd stay home today. Besides, I want to take a nap while he's napping today. I've been so tired!

Things are going well all around for the most part. Besides being more tired than I'd like to be, and having a cold/nasal issues for the past week or so, I've been feeling fine. David finally got covered by state insurance, so as soon as his card comes in the mail we'll make a doctor's appointment and we can see how big he's gotten! Adam's a couple weeks into his second quarter of the school year. He's very eager for his certification interview and with being done with school.

Merry Christmas, everybody! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed time worshipping Christ our Savior and spending quality time with the people you love.
