As you can see from the new pictures, David has very strong neck muscles, and he's working on his back muscles. He's getting pretty good about sitting fairly straight for a few seconds. He doesn't like being on his tummy for longer than a minute or two, so it's difficult working on his arm muscles and trying to encourage him to roll over.

He's enjoying playing in the Rainforest Jumperoo that Uncle Matt, Aunt Maria, and cousin Ayden are letting us borrow. David loves standing, so it's great for him to play in, and he's getting pretty good at grabbing some of the toys that are in front of his face.

We started trying to feed him rice cereal last night. We're trying to teach him how to eat off of a spoon, which is going to take a while for him to get the hang of it. He seems to like the rice cereal though, so that's good at least.

We got our camera back, yay! So we were able to update with new pictures, and some old ones we hadn't been able to upload from a month ago. I've also added some pictures from Grandma & Grandpa Filipek's camera in the Baptism album.

David is getting bigger and cuter all the time. Since we've got him Medicaid coverage through the state of Illinois, and still haven't gotten word from the new private insurance company (Humana) on whether they will cover him, he will be seeing Dr. Platt here in Chester until we can cancel his Medicaid. Dr. Platt is a member of St. John Lutheran Church, so we know him from church already, which is nice.

David is starting to sleep really well. As of Thursday or Friday night, he doesn't get a night feeding (which was at 5:30-6:30am anyway), and sleeps from about 11pm to 7-8am. And then Monday night, Mommy actually got a full night of sleep, too. She'd been waking up still when he'd make noise in his sleep.

David's got a stuffy/runny nose. It's better today, but we've been using the bulb syringe a lot to get all that snot out of there! On Sunday he slept all afternoon, so he probably felt the worst that day. He was crabby anyway, we were happy he took a long nap after all his fussiness! He had been fussy on Thursday, as well, so we thought maybe he's actually teething, but we haven't seen any signs of teething in his gums, so who knows!

We went to Wal-Mart yesterday and bought David a Halloween costume for next year, they were 50% off, so it was only like $6. He's going to be a dark brown puppy next year. He'll be adorable! We'll have to teach him how to bark, but we've got a whole year to work on that.

We're sending out our camera today to get it fixed, and hopefully we'll get it back before Thanksgiving! We've taken some new pictures, but of course we can't post them because we can't hook up to the computer! Maybe, if we don't get our camera back before Thanksgiving we'll post those pictures up using Grandma Wesche's card reader, but we won't be able to take new pictures for the next few weeks, unfortunately.

David has been sleeping really well lately. He goes to bed between 9 and 10pm, and then he'll wake up between 4:30 and 5:30am, eat, then sleep some more until about 7:30-8:30am. It's so nice to be able to sleep for longer than a 3 or 4 hour chunk! David sleeps for 7 or 8 hours, so I suppose he's technically "sleeping through the night", but we probably won't count that until he sleeps 9 or 10 hours at a time.

He's getting so big! He's outgrown nearly all his 0-3 months clothing, and he's moved up into size 2 diapers. What a big boy! He's got really strong neck and leg muscles, and he puts his hands in his mouth a lot, but we've still gotta work on the arm muscles. He smiles and babbles a lot, and he's starting to become interested in some toys, like the Kick & Drive we're borrowing from cousin Ella.

Grandma and Grandpa Filipek are visiting us in Chester for a week. David's having lots of fun smiling at them and acting like he can talk. He's been making lots of babbling noise, it's so cute.

David's been sleeping fine in his bedroom over the past week. He's starting to move up into the next larger clothing size, which is exciting. On Monday, Grandma and Grandpa Filipek are coming to Chester to visit us for a week. Adam is definitely looking forward to taking a week of vacation. He just needs to get through preaching on Sunday, and then we'll head up to St. Louis to stay the night with Becky's parents.

Last night was David's first night in his bedroom. We had packed up his playpen to take on the pastor's conference with us, because we thought we'd have only one bed in our hotel room. Turns out, we had two queen sized beds in the room, so David got one bed all to himself, and we could leave the playpen in the car! When we got home on Wednesday, we didn't feel like putting it back together, so we thought we'd see how it went with him sleeping upstairs in his room. He went to bed the first time at 8:30pm while Becky was at choir practice. Then he woke up to eat at 11:45pm, then again at 4am, and then he was making noise at 7am, so Becky pulled him into bed with her for about an hour and a half. This worked out fairly well, so we're just going to keep him up there now. Becky doesn't mind going up the stairs once or twice after she goes to sleep. And now we have our living room back!

David has officially been denied health insurance through our new plan because of the kidney thing, even though the doctor said it's not a big deal. We went ahead and applied for government insurance for him because we don't know what else we can do.

David slept really well last night, which is good because he was pretty crabby yesterday! He went to sleep at 9pm and then got up to eat at 2am, fell back asleep, got up to eat again at 6am, fell back asleep, and then got up at 9am. So that made me very happy. I was worried he'd be up at midnight or something since he went down at 9. He usually won't go to sleep until 10:30, so that's why I was worried I wouldn't get much sleep that first chunk overnight, but he surprised me! Maybe he'll keep up this trend? I have no idea, because the only thing he'd been consistent on for a little while is sleeping about 4 hours the first time he goes to sleep at night.
