The ultrasound that I had yesterday at my doctor's appointment was done to determine how much the baby has grown. My belly measurement at my last appointment was more than how many weeks pregnant I was at the time. Dr. Colton wanted to make sure I wasn't having too big of a baby, since I had failed the first test for glucose tolerance. Even though I passed the second test and therefore do not have gestational diabetes, the doctor just wanted to be sure about the baby's size. The baby is measuring around the 40th percentile, so definitely not too big. However, my stomach is 34 cm, and I'm 32 weeks pregnant, so he said that the baby is probably just sitting high right now.
The ultrasound tech couldn't get any good pictures of the baby because he/she is in the right position for delivery: head down and facing my back, so we couldn't see the face at all. We know he/she has one, though, because we've seen it before.
