Well thought I would post again,  I suddenly realised it has been a few days, oops sorry.   I guess I have been enjoying my four days off hehe but sadly back to work for me tomorrow.

Today is going to be another scorcher, will be spending some time in the pool I think and of course have to do some work on the treadmill.  This weekend has been a shocker for me, eating wise.

Saturday I felt like pizza so went to Pizza Hut and got a Super Supreme pan size pizza, a garlic bread and a 6 pack of BBQ Chicken wings, little piggie I was but in saying that NO i didnt eat it all.  I just had the whole garlic bread and 4 of the chicken wings.... boy are they good!  I did do 45 minutes on the treadmill though and also did some exercises in the pool too so that made me feel not-so-quilty lol

Me, well I hit another milestone yesterday - the 11 week mark!  I have been feeling really good the past few days so I guess I am lucky that the morning sickness has stayed away and I may not ever get it?

When I really think about it it is quite scary how quickly time is passing.  I mean this Wednesday I will only have a week to go until my scan and in two sundays I can start saying I am in the 2nd trimester!

On the topic of gender - I have changed my mind and am now convinced 'snooks' is a girl, well thats how I am thinking now.  Dunno why, I guess I have been reading too many of the 'myths' out there and have come to the conclusion there are more things going in my favour for a girl than a boy.  Time will tell I guess.  I am hoping 'snooks' will be in a good position at the NT scan so they possibly can give us an indication - although I know they cannot confirm it till the 20 week mark.  I am getting impatient now and want to know so I can start buying stuff lol

I have been googling 'nursery themes' and have picked out the linen I will get if it is a girl.  Girls are so much easier, if it is a boy well I am a bit buggered cause I am still undecided on what theme I will use.

I went to Aqua on friday at Burleigh.  Am making the effort to go every friday morning and am going to start Pre-Natal Yoga classes once this scan is out of the way.  It was ok that class but I am thinking this week I will try out another mob and compare them.

Mum and I are off to the movies this morning, she wants to go and see 'Junno' a movie about a young girl who falls pregnant and is forced to adopt.  The movie apparently was a low cost one and has been nominated for awards and I guess seeming I am adopted she was curious so yeah going to see it at 10:15am.

Anyways this is a longgg entry, dont wont to bore you any further.

Off to find food, my tummy is grumbling as usual  lol

Chow for now!

Morning all, well this morning I woke up with the most herrendous nausea and headache OMG - I think I spoke too soon and jinxed myself lol  Thought it might just be dehydration so got up to get some water; started to drink it but yeah it didnt help, it actually made me feel worse.  I came close to spewing twice, add to that my nose is running again like a tap this morning and I have diarroeha aswell Embarassed

So I decided to google 'headaches in pregnancy' and came across some interesting, rather amusing 'facts' on determining whether 'snooks' is going to be a girl or a boy.  It humoured me that much I thought I would share it with all of you hehe

You are all convinced it is a girl (based on the poll) but yeah me I am still in two minds.  Right from the start I have always thought boy going off a gut "motherly" instinct lol so I think I will stick to that until we know; thats if we do find out haha

Anyway, here’s the information I found:

1) Morning sickness in early pregnancy?
None or minimal suggests a boy; plenty of nausea and vomiting suggests a girl

Okay … well I had some nausea, but not enough to put me into the girl category on this one so this answer is easy BOY

Score:   BOY - 1   and   GIRL - ZERO

2) Baby’s heart rate?
Less than 140 beats per minute … boy; More than 140 beats … girl.

Hmmm there goes my 'boy' theory.  First ultrasound heart rate was 173... what the?

Score:  BOY = 1  and   GIRL = 1

3) Distribution of extra weight?
Carrying extra weight out front … boy; carrying weight on hips and bum … girl.

Hmmm well I havent put on much weight yet so might have to pass on this one!

Score:  BOY = 1  and GIRL = 1

4) Cravings?
Proteins, salty or sour foods … boy; sweet stuff, orange juice or fruit … girl.

Hmmm toughie I have been having alot of orange juice but more so because of the vitamin C content not cause I am 'craving' it.  I wouldnt say I have actually had cravings to be honest.  Have been eating more savoury food than sweet stuff though so will go BOY on this one

Score:  Boy = 2   and  Girl =1

5. Shape of the Bump?
Looks like a basketball … boy; watermelon … girl.

Hmmm yeah well my bump is still developing lol

Score:   stays level  2,1 to BOY

6. Position of the Bump?
Carrying low … boy; carrying high … girl.

Um … carrying everywhere?

7) Wedding ring pendulum?
Hang wedding ring on a piece of string over belly. Hold it very still.
Moves (all by itself!) in circles … boy; backwards and forwards … girl.

Me? Circles, back and forth, circles, back and forth … quadruplets?

8) Physical features?
Darkened areolas, faster growing leg hair, dry hands and a runny nose … boy;
Enlarged left breast, development of red hair highlights, facial breakouts and blossoming breasts … girl.

Ahhh yes this one is easy - definitely BOY!

Score:   BOY = 3   and GIRL = 1  (not looking very promising being a girl is it?)

9) Dad-to-be?
Gaining weight in sympathy … boy; remaining svelte and athletic and really starting to annoy you with his energy and flat stomach … girl.

Hang on … aren’t men always supposed to be annoying.

10) Disposition and emotions?
Looking and feeling awesome … boy; looking and feeling awful … girl.

Damn … well if I dont count today I would go BOY on this one - have been feeling pretty good most days.

Score:  BOY = 4    and GIRL =  1

11) Pillow (on bed)?
Faces north while you sleep … boy; faces south … girl.

What the.... this is gotta be the one that made me laugh the most.  But for the record mine faces south (I guess).... so GIRL?

Score:  BOY = 4  and  GIRL = 2

12) Urine?
Bright yellow … boy; dull yellow … girl.

Depends how much water I’ve drunk. IT IS yellow, though haha

13) Miscellaneous?
Feet colder than before getting pregnant, increased headaches … boy; refusal to eat the heel of a loaf of bread … girl.

Hmmmm havent really noticed the feet getting colder but yeah definitely have the headaches.  Thats enough to convince me - BOY!  In saying that though, I cant stand the crusts on bread at the moment lol.... hmmm I'll stick with boy I think

Score:  BOY = 5  and GIRL = 2

14) Mathematics?
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number … boy;
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number … girl.

Um … hang on … let me get my poor pregnant brain working … let’s see, my age at time of conception, 29 plus the number of the month we conceived, 11 .... ok so 29 + 11 = 40..... hmm interesting EVEN number so BOY again!

Score:  BOY = 6    and GIRL = 2

There are other tests of course, one of which it tells you to pour drain cleaner into your toilet after you have done a pee, one colour determines girl and another colour determines boy..... what the???? Thats gotta be another one to add to the 'crazy' list lol

So its unaminous - based on these scores anyway I am having a boy, guess time will tell and we just have to wait and see!

Anyways sorry for long post - hope you got some humour out of it like I did, must go hunt down so food now.... seems to be the story of my life at the moment.

Not alot to report from me, I am just crusing along through another working week.  Just got home from taking Sasha for a walk with the stroller; I have to go early when I take the stroller otherwise people look at me strangely pushing it with no baby in it haha.... oh well I am sure most people would put two and two together

I am still feeling fine, I think I am over the nausea to be honest, havent had a bout in a while but have been waking up every morning to my nose running like a tap and sneezing heaps.... its a tad annoying!   I did wake up with a bit of a stabbing pain in my chest this morning (in the sternum area) seems to have subsided now though but I will keep an eye on it, was quite uncomfortable.

I have been changed to afternoon shifts for today and tomorrow which is sort of good I suppose, all lunchtime starts.

I have a 4 day weekend coming up, yay!!  I have taken Sunday off as its mum's birthday and we are going out for lunch and then Monday M is working so yeah I am looking forward to having an extended break this weekend.

Anyways thats about as exciting as my life is at the moment lol

Brekky is calling....

Hospital Visit Done
posted on 19/01/2008

Hello again everyone - well back from the visit to John Flynn.

I must say I was impressed with how nice things are there! Very big birthing suites - one is a water birthing one and after seeing it I am definitely keeping my options open to actually use it!

I also like the fact that their is a limited amount of private rooms so will never have to deal with crowds of people, will be nice n quiet. The rooms have nice views of Coolangatta airport (if you're on the south side) or a nice outlook of garden and trees if you are north side and DOUBLE beds hehe... yeah!

So I am happy that I chose JF now; and doing the tour has put me at ease; one less thing to do!

Anyways gotta go and get dinner organised.... back to work for me tomorrow..ugh but alas another milestone hit aswell - I will hit the 10 week mark...hoorah!

Well hello again, thought I would pop again and post.

Troy and I came up with the idea of going to the drive-in movies at Yatala last night.  What an experience that was!  I have never been to one; its sooo cool!  We loaded the car up with our pillows and doonas, some food and drink to snack on.  Saw two movies for $14, bargain!!  'Alvin and the Chipmunks' and 'I am Legend'.  Alvin and the Chipmunks was funny as, I am Legend was a bit screwed up in some places lol

We are off to the hospital (John Flynn) soon to have a 'tour' of the maternity wards etc. They do them every saturday afternoon at 3:00pm so thought we would go and check it out.

I just measured my waist just now for fun and it is 88cm - measured at belly button height right round.  Gonna keep a track of it and see how quickly it increases hehe

Anyways gotta go... will report back later on how the tour went Smile

NT scan booked
posted on 18/01/2008

Just sat down for a quick break in between doing the housework so thought I would do an entry as  I have been a bit slack lately.

It is actually an alright day here today, bit overcast but yeah at least its not raining. I got up early and did two loads of washing hoping it will hold out long enough to get both loads dry.  Its going to be a warm one I think, is already quite muggy so I think I might be in the pool later.

I had to postpone my plans to do my first aqua class this morning. My BIL phoned last night to ask if he could borrow our video camera so have to wait at home now for him to come and pick it up.  I was looking forward to going but I will start next week!

Have found a lady on the Gold Coast who runs Pre Natal Yoga classes too so will start that once the NT scan is all out of the way. I wanna wait a few more weeks too so I can get passed this 'yucky' feeling before I start doing it. Its pretty reasonable too, $12 a class - am happy with that!

And now for the GOOD NEWS!! I rang Southcoast Radiology again this morning and booked my NT scan (test for Downs syndrome)  Date is set for Wed 6th Feb YAY so on the countdown we go again! Thinking I might get the BT done on the Thursday beforehand (31st) that way I well and truly have it covered as you have to allow at least 3 days.

Anyways I need to get something nice to eat so thats it from me... hmmmm subway would be nice right about now but yes I know ...... stay away from it! I so want a Italian BMT Cry

I posted another belly shot this morning if anyone is interested in how HUGE I am getting hehe

Happy Friday people!

Well not alot to report today.  Early shift at work this morning so had to get up at 4:30am.  Had a fairly average shift; taught RPM this morning and had a programme at 1pm to do.

Came home; its stinking hot so went in the pool and did 20 minutes of aqua sorta exercises.  Think I might be back in later.

Seeing the doctor again in the morning at 10:00am; another check up and so he can view the films from the scan on Friday.  Will also get the referral for my 12 week scan (which is in 3 weeks).  On the countdown again, cant wait to get a better glimpse of 'snooks'.  Next time there will be so much more to see - am excited already lol

Anyways thats about as exciting as my day has been, better go and decide on what we are having for dinner.

13/01/2008

Well have made it through another week - I am 9 weeks pregnant today, hoorah!

I cant believe that we are almost in the middle of January.  To me, time goes slow day to day but yeah when you think about where you are within the month well then it doesnt seem as bad.

Back to work for me today - man it was great to have 4 days off but unfortunately I have to keep working for the time being.  I suppose now I can at least look forward to Sunday cause each one means I am another week further along.  That is how I am going to look at it anyway.

We are going back to John Flynn on Saturday to do a tour of the maternity wards etc.    They do them every saturday afternoon at 3:00pm and anyone can go.  I was very impressed with the way John Flynn looked on Friday so was happy with myself that I made the decision to go there.

Back to the doctor on Tuesday to show him the films taken on Friday.  He is going to also give me the referral for the 12 week scan so I guess I can be excited in the fact that we dont have to wait too long to see 'snooks' again (will have the scan done around 1st Feb) and this time round everything will much more distinguishable and 'snooks' will look more like a human being rather than a bean haha

Anyways its 6:30am, must think about getting in the shower and getting ready for work...urgh!

Till next time ........
