When I was pregnant I was asked about my feelings about breastfeeding in public. I had said I didn't feel it was appropriate to do it in the middle of the mall, or restaurant but yesterday I had a dilema. Nathanial and I were having lunch and he woke up and was hungry. I went to the washroom to feed him and there was no where to sit, or even to change him. I went back to the booth got out my breastfeeding blanket and fed him at the table. Of course my mother and her friend didn't care but I had to feed my son. Luckily we were in a booth at the back of the restaurant so there wasn't anyone really around. I am still have my thoughts on breastfeeding in public but I had changed some of my perception due to being in the situation I was in. The other day we were in the mall and he woke up, I went to the GAP and asked to use one of their change rooms, the lady made sure I had the big room with the bench in it so I could feed. All I can say is do not use the special rooms in the Promenade as they are dirty and smelly. Change room was much better. |
