Welcome to our site. I am amazed that we have had about 15,000 visitors to this site (as of today) and about 1300 in the last month. Thanks everyone for caring about these 3 precious boys.
The boys spent 3.5 to 5 months in the NICU. It was a rollercoaster ride to put in mildly but one with a happy ending for us as all boys came home and are developing perfectly.
These three boys are little miracles and we are pleased to report they are all doing great. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers - we still will have to get them through the fall and winter flu season when they will be in 'high risk.' Hunter had hernia surgery in the September and Matthew had open heart surgery in early September to correct his VSD, PDA, and slight narrow portion of the aorta. Both surgeries went perfectly and the boys are doing very well.
To give you their background: The boys due date was not until June 9, 2008 but we knew having triplets meant that they would be born early. After 25 weeks of no pregnancy issues and getting a good report card from my doctor, I went into labor on 3/1/08. I was immediately given magnesium sulfate and put on hospital bed rest. I had dilated to 1 cm but they stopped the contractions. I was luckily given 5 days of bedrest and 2 steriod shots to help with the boys lung development before I went into labor again. This time it could not be stopped as Hunter's water broke. So, on March 6, 2008 these three amazing boys came into the world at 26.5 weeks.
