JOURNAL 04/20/2007Car Seat Safety! Hey Everyone! Is your little one outgrowing his/her toddler car seat? If so please keep in mind that children are safer when they are in a car seat with a five point harness rather than a booster seat with a lap belt. The following foundation is offering help to needy families by giving away two very high quality car seats for children 1 and older that weigh between 22-80 pounds. A very good friend of mine applied and received the Britax Regent car seat. Please see the following link for more information and online application. Again - my friend received one for FREE! Greg and I both have Britax car seats in our vehicles and love them. They are very pricey so if you know of someone who can't afford to purchase one, please pass on the information. http://www.kyledavidmiller.org/pages/home/index.htm
Comments (0) 04/15/2007 Hunter and I were at the mall and decided to stop at CPK for dinner. Hunter sat in a booster chair next to me which made him seem like such a big boy. It was so nice, a mommy & son night out. The waitress gave Hunter some crayons and a coloring book which I thought to myself this should be interesting. Amazingly enough he knew how to color from day care. I’d never seen him color before so I almost fell off my chair in shock. Then the crayons were going into the mouth and on the floor so I had to take them away. Hunter didn’t mind since dinner arrived and if you didn't already know, the kid loves to eat! Comments (0) 11/22/2006 Hunter started his 8th month off with a fever of 103-105 for three days. We spend the entire week at the doctor’s office and hospital running tests and getting shots. He was eventually diagnosed him with Strep-Pneumonia which is a bacterial infection in the blood. We were lucky that it was caught in time so he didn't have to be hospitalized. The doctor's were very surprised that he caught it since babies are now vaccinated against it. I even had to talk to the Department of Public Health in regards to Hunter's where abouts. Then approximately two weeks later we were back at the doctor's office with an ear infection. On a good note, Hunter finally sleeping through the night (ok, most nights). Hurray! And thankfully I still have a job even though I've missed more work than I thought possible. Comments (0) 11/05/2006
Comments (0) 09/12/2006 I think I jinxed myself with the last entry. Hunter is been back to waking up around 4 am! Not fun at all for mom. Then the little stinker does not want to wake up to get ready for day care. Figures! Comments (0) 08/11/2006 Hunter is finally sleeping through the night and sleeping in his crib. The secret to this... Oatmeal. Prior to his bedtime bottle I give him a little oatmeal and it works every night. If I skip the night time oatmeal, he is awake at 4 am. Hurray for Oatmeal! Comments (0) 07/24/2006 Hunter was sick again, doctor said he has the croup. Oh the joys of daycare. And of course he gave it to mommy so we both missed a day or work and school. Comments (0) |
