A Day Out WithThomas posted on 03/30/2008
We have a HUGE "Choo-Choo" lover on our hands, as Jaxon calls trains. We took a trip to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera, AL Sunday where they were having a Day Out With Thomas. I wish I could've captured the squeals of excitement and little dance that he did when he spotted the lifesize Thomas for the first time - such a cute moment. There was so much to do! We started by letting him play on toy train tables and get a giraffe balloon animal. He even got his first tattoo - temporary, of course. Then it was time for the big 25 minute train ride. He loved it, but it was pretty relaxing too because he took a little nap with daddy before it was over. Then back at it with Thomas videos, where he met the cutest little girl that really wanted some of his snack. Sir Toppam Hat made an appearance also, but Jaxon did not like him up close. He would talk about his hat from afar, but did not want to get close as you'll see. Then we listened to some live music and jumped in a bouncy inflatable. All in all it was a great day. If you have little ones that like Thomas, you should definitely go! They'll be there next weekend too.

Happy Easter! posted on 03/24/2008
Easter was a blast this year with Little J. We went Saturday to Talladega Superspeedway for an egg hunt, but the camera batteries were dead so no pics. Then Sunday we traveled to Heflin and attended worship service with our Heflin Baptist Church family. It was great to see everyone, and what a blessing the music, drama and message were! Then we headed to Mimi and Papa Jack Whitman's for lunch and some outside fun despite the cold temps. Jaxon loved playing in the leaves and just running wild. What a fun day! HAPPY EASTER!
Also thought I would share that we have decided on a name for our little girl - Jillian. No middle name has stuck yet, so vote for what you like best.

Lela's Barnyard Birthday posted on 03/15/2008
Little Lela McKnight turned 2 this weekend and we had a blast at her barnyard birthday party! Jaxon got his own cowboy hat that he loves and got to ride a real horse for the 1st time too! The look on his face when the horse started walking was priceless. The amazement in his eyes is something I won't soon forget. He really enjoyed bouncing too with Lela and Emily! Happy Birthday Lela!!!!!!
Sunday was such a pretty day we decided to go have some fun at the park. It had been a while since we had been there, and I couldn't believe how independent Jaxon has gotten. He could ride the rocky horse by himself and loved running all through the gym by himself. Wow, how quickly they grow! I can't believe I'm saying this, but it doesn't seem like he should be that big! The only thing that saves me from being too sad is lil sis will be here in less than 2 months. We can't wait! Don't miss Jaxon's silly fish face and he and daddy wrestling on the couch last night - too cute.

Weekend with the Whitman's posted on 02/10/2008
This weekend was a busy one. We traveled to Lafayette, GA to visit my brother for Conner's 3rd Birthday. It was so good to see family and friends and let the cousins play. Conner is getting so big, and he absolutely loved his big birthday gift from Mom and Dad - a Polaris 4-wheeler!!! Jaxon absolutely adores his cousin Addison also - lots of hugs and kisses for her. Jaxon enjoyed playing with all their outside toys. He was determined to be a big boy too and ride the bicycle with Mimi. A good time was had by all! Happy 3rd Birthday Conner!

Blizzard of 2008 posted on 01/19/2008
Well, you can add another first accomplishment for Jaxon to the books. We survived the January 19, 2008 blizzard here in Moody, ha ha! It started snowing around 8:30 AM I guess and I decided I couldn't pass up on this photo opportunity to capture Jaxon's first snow by about 10:00 when the ground was covered pretty good. We all bundled up and ventured out and Jaxon wasn't too sure about it to start with. He liked to stomp around the deck in his boots, but did not like how cold it was on his hands. I know what you're thinking, why didn't I have gloves on him? Well, that's alot like making a cat wear gloves - he was having no part of that. We had a few minutes of fun and came in for a nap. By the time we woke up a few hours later, it was all gone. We enjoyed it while it lasted though!

Happy New Year 2008 posted on 01/02/2008
This year we spent New Year's Eve at home playing with our little pride and joy. Mimi and Papa Jack Whitman gave him a blow up obstacle course that finally got out and he had the best time playing with it. He LOVES all the balls and he'll shout SLIDE! Then we had to play peek a boo with daddy's hat. Even bath time was fun that night. Mommy was asleep on the couch by about 10:30 and daddy woke me up long enough to ring in the new year at midnight. 2008 should be a very exciting year for us with the new baby on the way! Happy New Year everyone!

Jaxon's 2nd Christmas posted on 12/27/2007
We had so much fun celebrating Jaxon's second Christmas with him this year. Mimi and Papa Jack Whitman came to our house Christmas Eve to spend the night with us. They gave Jaxon a present early that he absolutely LOVES ~ a kitchen! I know you're thinking "A boy got a kitchen for Christmas? Huh?" Well, you never know he could be the next Emeril! He was so cute walking around with all the food and plates saying "cook". Christmas morning was too cute also. He was really into opening the gifts this year. Each little piece of paper that he tore off he had to hand to someone, ha ha. The basketball goal was a big hit. He took to it immediately ~ were gonna have to raise that goal pretty soon. I can't explain the joy of watching your own child experience Christmas for the first time they really know what's going on. It's something you can't explain, you just have to experience. We have been so blessed this year, and Christmas was the perfect time to reflect on what God has truly given us. Happy Birthday Jesus!
