Catch up!

JAckson is now running mommy and daddy ragged because he can crawl and is currently exploring the house and where ever he might be on all fours...some things he has discovered: the bathroom which has the bathtub that he loves, the stairs (mommy had a dream he climbed all the way up them last night), the dog water bowl and food bowl (he has sampled both...yuck!), the dog bed (mommy is tempted to throw it out because he comes off of it with enough dog hair to cover his whole body!), and many other interesting things that usually spell trouble!  He is also standing up on most things and like to let go, he is also figuring out how to sit down from a standing position.  He also likes to get into a position where he is on his hands and feet with his bum in the air...which I am sure means he will be walking in no time!

He is eating real solid food such as spaghetti (check out the pics), he loves most anything that is edible...well except for ketchup which he just had to have a little of when he saw it on mommy's plate, but quickly screamed his head off until he got a drink of water and his face wiped.

He went on his first vacation to Aunt Margie and Uncle Ryan's house in North Carolina, he is a great traveler!  He also just recently got home from his first camping trip, where he got very dirty and we discovered he is not afraid of torrential downpours, lightning, or thunder!

Standing
posted on 06/08/2009

Jackson has discovered that he can pull himself to a standing position, and now he is a little dare devil because he will now stand with one hand.  He is also able to get on all fours but still hasn't put it all together into crawling yet...but soon!  Oh and he also loves swim lessons, but all the other kids stay away from him because all he does is splash the whole time!

8 months old!
posted on 05/27/2009

Today Mr. Jackson turned 8 months old!  Where or where has the time gone?  We are in amazement that it has gone by with a blink of an eye, before we know it we will be planning his birthday party!

Here are a few stats since it has been so long since we have posted:

Jackson has two bottom teeth and is working on his first top tooth, it is almost through and we can't wait because it sure is making him cranky!

He is working on crawling, slowly but surely.  He can now get on his knees when he really tries.

He is pulling himself to a standing position, and he loves to do this in his crib, just wish he would sleep in the thing!

He loves to bounce, and sometimes we think he will just bounce right away!

He isn't much of a talker (must get that from Daddy), but he sure can throw a temper tantrum (they say he gets this from Mommy, but she doesn't know what they are talking about)!

Teeth!!!
posted on 04/07/2009

So after many months of drool and hand chomping Jackson's teeth, yes teeth, are finally coming in!  He is getting both bottom teeth at the same time, right now they are sharp little white points.  Hopefully by the end of the week they will be full blown teeth!  Maybe he will show them off when Mommy takes a picture of him in his new bunny outfit, surely Daddy will not like the outfit but it was too cute to resist!

6 Months Old!!!
posted on 03/27/2009

Jackson is 6 months old today!!!  And as I was watching him play in his jumparoo and smile at the silly spinning frog it hit me how fast time has gone by, seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home in his tiny little outfit that was too big on him and now he is in 6 or 9 month clothes!  So off to the doctors we went and he is now 16.5 pounds (in the 25-30th percentile), he is 26 7/8" long (75th percentile) and his head is in the 60th percentile.  SO basically he is tall and lean according to the doctor, so taking after Daddy there, and he has a big head for that big brain of his, I like to think that part is Mommy, but I guess some of it comes from Daddy too!  The doctor gave us the go ahead for stage 2 foods, so he had his first taste of blueberries and apples mixed together!  I also bought some avacados to try and see if he likes it...so we shall see!  He is also got great small motor skills and passes things back and forth between his two hands (he thinks this is pretty neat and so so we), he is trying so hard to crawl but just can't coordinate everything at the same time so he spins and flops backwards a lot, and he is sitting on his own for an extended period of time as long as he has some motivation like baby einstein dvds.  Just can't believe we were in the hospital 6 months ago staring in awe at our little miracle baby, we still stare just as much but he isn't so little anymore!

Long time no write...
posted on 03/12/2009

Well it has been awhile since we have written anything, mostly because our little man keeps us pretty busy!  He is growing like a weed!  A few weeks ago he was weighing in at 15 lbs. 9 oz!  I am a little afraid to weigh him now, he is starting to get pretty chunky!  He is also so very close to rolling from his back to his belly, but keeps getting hung up on that pesky arm!  He is also sitting up with a little support, but it won't be long until he is doing it all by himself.  I also suspect there is a tooth in our near future with all the drooling and biting.  He is also enjoying solids.  He eats oatmeal cereal twice a day mixed with fruit and then a side of veggies.  He has tried prunes, bananas, applesauce (the latest addition), squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, and as of last night he tried peas for the first and last time!  I gave him a taste of the peas and he gagged so bad he spit up, I thought maybe I had just put it to far back in his mouth so I tried again and got the same reaction....so no more peas for the time being, maybe we will try it again in the future.  Well sorry for the short message but I must be going, the little piggy is hungry for his cereal, and nothing should get in the way of his cereal, lol!

4 Months Old!!
posted on 01/27/2009

Jackson is 4 months old today, amazing how time flies!  Before you know it he will be walking and talking, then going to school, ahhhhh!!!  We went to his 4 month well baby visit and he is 14 lbs. 2.5 oz, 25 inches long, and his head grew a ton!  He is in the 50th and 60th percentile for his measurements so he is doing well!  We got the go ahead to start cereal (he has had a few tastes of it the last two weeks) so there are some new pics of him eating that are pretty funny!  He seems to really enjoy eating and we will be starting veggies in a few weeks!  He now only wants to sit up, hates it when he is laying down except when he is playing with his doggie mat.  And he is scooting himself while on his back, he likes to do this in the crib especially...well off I go because he is waking up from his little 20 minute catnap...and staring at the tv...he is such a tv junkie, gets that from daddy!
