She's A Chunker!

We got an unexpected surprise e-mail today from our Program Director................a sweet new picture of our baby girl! She has changed A LOT and has gotten much much BIGGER!!!! I don't know what they are feeding her but it's working! Still no new measurements or weight updates but we'll see how Wednesday goes and pray that we will get a medical report on her soon!

GOT A NAME!

After almost a year now, we have finally decided on a name! Our sweet little one is now Myliah, pronounced, MY-LEE-UH Please continue to pray that all goes well on Wednesday and she will officially be ours!

Court Date Rescheduled!

Apparently, there were not enough officials present today due to a workshop taking place to process our requests so we are now rescheduled for next Wednesday, Feb. 6th. The O19 families are still scheduled for Feb. 8th! Duni did say that they still expect us to travel the end of February provided all goes well next week!

Amazing Support and Prayer Warriors

Our agency has a Yahoo Group set up for families who are in process to adopt from Ethiopia. This group of people are absolutely amazing and here's the latest example of this, one of the ladies started a prayer chain and I have to share some of the prayers that have been offered in regards to the court hearings for today:
Almighty Father,
We beseech you this morning knowing you are fully in control of the details
of our lives. You are all-knowing, all-powerful and completely able to move the government
mountains in our lives right now. Father, we trust completely in Your Word
which proclaims Your heart for the orphans of the world. You hold them in your loving
arms and in Your sweet mercy you honor us by allowing us to partner with You in loving
them with an eternal love, one that only can come from Your Holy Spirit. What an amazing
thing that I cannot even fathom, yet I am invited to participate in.
Lord, I pray on behalf of those families right now waiting for court dates.
Please bring about this process speedily and cut through any red tape which threatens to
stand in the way of these parents and their children. Father, I ask for a sweet peace for
these families- - I ask for Your overwhelming presence in each of their lives so that they can
keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting in the Hope that is before them, knowing in the
depths of their souls that You are working on their behalf and holding them and their
children through the waiting...
Okay, that's just a start. Now it's your turn :)...

Heavenly Father,
You are so good to us! Thank you for this group and for people who are yielded to you, thank you that they spend their time lifting up our arms when we are tired! We are so tired and drained, Lord! I think we are scared too; so much has gone wrong so far, in our eyes. But I know that you are working your perfect plan for your glory. Already I see your hand in the timing of our referral and other things that I thought were “mistakes”. Thank you for your sovereignty!!!
So, here we are! Where else would we go, Father? You alone hold all things together and work all things for our good and your glory. You alone have the power to move mountains and raise the dead, to part seas and stop the sun! I pray that you will go before us and be our advocate. That you will stand before the judge on our behalf, that mercy will rain down on us! Thank you that our children are so loved by you, by their nannies, and by the people in this group!!! We know that this can only come from your Spirit, Lord and we praise you for your grace!!
I pray for your peace over all of us!!! May we remember who you are, how much you love us and our children, how powerful and mighty you are and that you are good and perfect!!!! Go before us and Girmachew, Lord! Open the floodgates!!
Rae McIlrath Christ Jesus, before You rebuked the winds and the waves, You asked Your disciples, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" (Matt. 8:26) Help me to fully embrace that the ONE whom the winds and waves obey is the same ONE who watches over me!! As I meditate today....I started to picture myself on the shores with Jesus! He asked us to adopt and we obeyed Him. He told us to "get in the boat and meet Him on the other side" I've been terribly anxious and afraid as the storms have hit and waves crashed over the boat!! I confess that I loose focus and forget...Jesus promised to meet me on the other side. Why do I choose to take my eyes off Him and allow my heart to become terrified?? Please forgive me, Lord. Dearest YG, Hour by hour we call upon the Abba who hears our CRYS!! I pray that Girmachew appears before the courts Wed. with supernatural confidence. I pray that all eyes that see him may watch in wonder and believe in You. I pray that Girmachew literally glows/shines with a fire that can only come from the Holy Spirit...cover him with your protection!! May his oppressors tremble before him and feel the presence of the Lord God Almighty as he presents the cases for Oct. 19th families and the Harpolds and Wegners!!!!! May Girmachew be a testimony of Your great power working through this dear man. Amen!!!! Father, please bring STRONG BELIEVERS into our lives so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith!!! (Rom. 1:12) Lord, though (we) have not seen You, (we) want to deeply love You; and even though (we) do not see You now, (we) want to believe in You and be FILLED with an inexpressible and glorious JOY!! (1 Pet 1:8)

Almighty Father,
Right now we ask You to work in the hearts and minds of the officials and all
the powers- that-be to move them toward decisions of favor for the 10/19 families. Beyond
this, we beseech You to move paperwork in the right direction, move it quickly and
without incident. Cause Your will to prevail in all things adoption for the families of
AWAA. May those involved recognize this movement as being from a Sovereign God who
purposefully acts on the behalf of His people and may it bring Glory to Your name.
Lord, I specifically raise up Duni to You right now. Give her and over-flowing
cup of blessing for her diligence and work for the children of Ethiopia and the
families who love them. I praise you for placing her at AWAA and pray you would surround her with
support, resources and a constant flowing of Your Grace beyond measure!! I pray
for a boldness of spirit for both her and Girmachew and ALL those involved in bringing
children home to their families!!
By Your power and Grace I can pray these things in confidence and assurance...

Your loving-kindness and praise Your name! We thank you that You've
opened our hearts and homes so that we can be apart of the solution,
and that You are giving us the honor of being Christ to
these `little ones'.
We praise You, Lord, because Your wisdom allows for uncertainty in
our lives, and because we are confident through our uncertainty You
are refining our faith and increasing our patience! By Your wisdom,
you allow us to be broken so that You can rebuild us as strong and
magnificent.
Father, I pray specifically for persons of peace and persons of
influence in the Ethiopian courts to come forward, and that You
would use them to expedite paperwork and dissolve confusion. We
thank You in advance for your grace, mercy and favor…and we will be
faithful to remember You and praise You to all the world as you
fulfill Your promises!

Patiently Awaiting Word from Duni

Well, today is our court date and many of us on the Yahoo Group awoke to pray at 8am together for the hearings that will be taking place! From what Duni said, Girmachew will be presenting the cases around 4:45pm in Ethiopia so we will most likely not hear any news today but rather tomorrow due to the time difference! What's one more day at this point right? Will keep you updated!

COURT DATE!!!!

Are you ready for this? Duni called today to let us know that Girmachew did in fact secure a court date for us! It is.......................... JANUARY 30TH!!!! Yes, you read that right!! Our court date is set for Wednesday, January 3oth, that is 5 days from today!!!
THIS IS A MIRACLE!!!!
