WE'RE DONE!!!
At least with all the paperwork to get the homestudy started! That's such a relief! We are going to our orientation meeting tomorrow night with Amy Harris and hopefully we will be able to schedule our first home visit and get this homestudy underway! YEAH!! We are told that this part of the process can take 1-3 months to complete! OUCH!
This is so different from Taiwan. We didn't have to collect any paperwork besides have copies of our BC's and MC to start the homestudy! It's different and hard to wrap my brain around at times how country and agency requirements vary so much!
Well, I am so happy to have this all behind us. I believe I counted that we only need our reference letters, our application letter (requesting gender/age and an explanation of why we want to adopt from Ethiopia) our completed homestudy and the I600A approval for the dossier! Not too much more paperwork to be done but a whole lot of waiting ahead!
