Halloween Fun!
posted on 11/03/2009

I've been obsessed with Halloween all month!  I've got Halloween shirts, Halloween books, and Halloween jammies.  I even have a stuffed bat and a Vampire Mickey.  My favorite book for the month has been "Where's My Mummy?"

Mommy took me shopping for a Halloween costume in the middle of the month, and despite the fact I thought I wanted to be a pumpkin, the moment I saw the bat costume I had to have it!  I wore the costume for Trick-Or-Treating at the school, and then to our trip to Disney!  But more about that later...

Sushi and Princesses
posted on 09/20/2009

We went to dinner on Friday at our favorite Japanese restaurant, Nami.  Knowing how I love crab and exploring new food, Mommy ordered me "baby safe" sushi in the form of a crab roll, cut in small pieces.  It was really good, and I also enjoyed pulling out the crab and making circles out of the seaweed.

The weekend fun continued as I got to go to my Cousin's today, and then to see the Disney Princess on Ice show.  Good thing I had Saturday to rest up!

Potty Training!
posted on 09/06/2009

We've spent most of the last month - with the exception of a week or so - potty training.  And I have to say I think I've got it down pretty well!  As of last week, I'm down to about one accident a day (sometimes less), and only about once a week not making it through the night.  I'd say that's pretty good for a 2 1/2 year old, wouldn't you?

From Swim Training to Potty Training
posted on 08/01/2009

Swim lessons finished last week.  I didn't quite learn to swim, but I did get great pointers.  I plan to keep practicing and the teacher said if I do, next year I should be able to go into the class for 3-5 year olds.

This week we've spent potty training in school.  I've done pretty well, with only one accident a day.  That's a good thing, because it means the messes have been minimal.

I've also decided I really like my new class.  It took me a while to get used to the new students and teacher, but now I've settled in and it's a lot of fun.  Every day we have a different Theme Day.  This week we had Camping Day, and Water Day, and Sand Day.  My favorite was Dress-Up Day, where I got to pretend to be a pig - complete with nose, tail, and ears!

Swimming Lessons
posted on 07/23/2009

The last couple weeks Mommy's been taking me to swimming lessons.  Tomorrow is my last class.  We've been learning to kick, and move arms, and climb out of the water, and jump back on.  I can't say I can really swim by myself yet, but I do have lots of moves to practice so I can eventually can.

I wish we could continue swimming every day!

Using the potty!
posted on 07/18/2009

We've been talking for a while about trying to use the potty.  I've been practicing sitting on the potty and reading about how big girls do it.  I actually did use it once after we unpacked it in January, but it was really a practice run and not a serious interest.

Well, today for the first time I actually really used it!  Mommy and Daddy knew I needed to go, and sat me down and read to me.  And then - it was all over.  My first time using the potty!

The school told Daddy they are going to work on potty training in a couple of weeks.  Good thing, because now I'm really ready!

I see pretty panties in my future!  ( I choose Elmo ones just this morning.)

New classroom coming soon!
posted on 06/17/2009

We heard today that I will be moving into a new class in 2 weeks!  It's not that I don't  like my teacher or classmates, but I look forward to meeting new people and moving into the "big kids" room.  Moving should also mean we'll be looking into potty training too.  I've been getting really annoyed with dirty diapers lately, so it would be nice not to have to deal with them.

Halloween
posted on 11/12/2008

We had a lot of fun for Halloween!  First Daddy took me trick-or-treating at his college for a while.  Then, for the evening, we went up to Counsin Philippe and Cousin Nicholas house.  We ate dinner and played while the grown-ups chatted.  Then we got into our Halloween costumes and went out to a mall.

I was a little lion.  At first I cried a lot, because I was having fun playing and didn't want to get down to work.  They started calling me "The Cryin' Lion".  I couldn't have that, so I started doing my signature Roar.  I've been working on that roar all month!  Anyway, by the time we got to the mall I was a big hit.

It was really cool the way everyone kept giving us candy.  Unfortunately, they all tasted like plastic.  Daddy said something about needing to wait for the wrappers to be taken off, but I finally found one that tasted good with the wrapper still on - a Now or Later.   I decided to take it up on the Now part, wrapper and all.

After the mall we went Trick or Treating around the neighborhood.  We got lots of good stuff, but my favorite was the popcorn.  Eventually we went home and I slept pretty well!
