I'm feeling a little better.  My nose is not so stuffy now, but I still have a little bit of a cough.  Luckily I never got a fever so the doctor told Mommy not to worry.

I'm really big into exploring myself these days.  My big things are playing around with my tongue - it's fun to use my tongue to push out the bottle! - and my fingers.  I like to chew those fingers a lot.  I'm also trying to get them coordinated enough to pick things up, but it is a slow process.  I can occassionally grab things for short periods of time.  And I have a little lamb rattle that I pick up with 2 hands... well, to be honest I use my wrists because my hands are often balled into fists.  Soon I hope to be able to pick up toys with one hand so I can play better!

We've had the latest in my lists of firsts, but this one is not so good.  I have my first stuffy nose.  I got stuffy yesterday evening and it's lasted all day.  Mommy took me to the doctor this morning.  I'm not running a fever and it's not a chest cold.  It is just a stuffy nose with some sneezing and a cough.

Hopefully it'll only last a couple days, because it doesn't make me very happy and makes Mommy worry.

I've started sleeping "through the night"!  Granted, my "night" usually ends at 4:00 a.m., but it is about 6 hours of sleep per night and Mommy and Daddy are thrilled.

I first slept through the night on Friday.  I fell asleep on Mommy at 9:30 and slept until 4:00.  Last night I slept from 7:00 until 10:00, then got up for a bottle and slept from 10:30 until 5:00.  I still fidget in the early morning hours, but overall everyone is much better rested.

My date with Brandon went okay, but it would have been better if we both weren't so tired and hungry.  Brandon had some playtime while I took a nap.  We had our meal - with a little fussing at the inept chefs who made us wait for our supper.  Then we both went to sleep for the evening.  I did notice that during Brandon's playtime his Mom was urging him to kick off his covers.  My Mommy is always telling me not to kick off the covers!  What a cool mommy he has!

Today I had a doctor's appointment.  I weighed in well at 10 pounds 15 ounces, but I am still only 22 inches tall.  This puts me at average height and weight for a baby girl my age (50th percentile).  Perfect!  The doctor then took out 4 of those nasty needles and proceeded to give me a whole bunch of shots.  I yelled at her, but she wouldn't stop.  Mommy and Daddy had little sympathy, telling me it was for my own good.  Bah!  What an excuse!

Today we found that Baby Einstein DVDs aren't just for babies.  Mommy sometimes puts in the Baby Mozart DVD for me to watch while I am eating - it catches my attention and thus I eat slower.  At one point a section came on with animal sounds.  This got Ginger's attention.  She sat in front of the TV and watched for about 5 minutes.  At one part she even jumped up in front of the TV to chase the balls around the screen!

Today is my 2-month birthday!  We are celebrating by having my first date with a prospective suitor.  It seems my application for a boyfriend was successful (see my very first Guestbook entry) and they are sending over one Brandon S. to see how we get along.

Don't worry!  Both my parents and Brandon's will be chaperoning this event.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Time flies when you're having fun!  Easter was great.  We went to both Grandmas' houses and I got lots of attention.  It tired me out and I slept well most of the day.  I had a great outfit that said Baby's First Easter, and Mommy and Daddy also put me in a bunny outfit.  Everyone said it was really cute.  My cousins Philippe and Nicholas had an Easter Egg Hunt, but being as I can't walk yet I wasn't able to participate.  Maybe next year!

I turned 8 weeks old this week and I'm still growing wonderfully.  I smile a lot now.  It melts everyone's hearts and gets me lots of attention.  I learned how to rub my eyes and my "vocabulary" is growing.  I still haven't learned how to turn over or crawl yet, though.  But I'm trying!

I am starting to sleep a little better at night now.  Instead of waking up three times to eat, I now get up only twice a night.  Most times I am even going right back to sleep pretty quickly.  That is a big improvement in the sleeping patterns for the whole family.  Nevertheless, Mommy complains that I do a lot of fidgeting at night - especially the early morning hours - which keeps her up sometimes.  She's even started calling me Fidget.

Hey, I'm only 7 weeks old!  I'm trying!
