Wow!  I've had a busy week of growing and fussing and haven't done any updates in a while!

Today I am four weeks old.  Being a night owl, I am not yet sleeping through the night and prefer staying up into the early hours of the morning.  Mom and Dad are now trying to get me into a better schedule, where I will be more playful during the day and sleep better at night.  Thus far I am resisting their efforts but they've only been working on it for a day and a half.  We are now trying lullabies for sleeping and designated playtime where I am awake and we play fun music.

I am also making good progress on the eyesight.  I am tracking things with my eyes and watching people pretty closely.  The other day I found one of the kitties wandering around my head and watched her moving.  I can't wait to chase the cats!

The big debate this week is my eye color.  The experts say babies' eyes do not steady into a color for several weeks or months.  The first two weeks of life my eyes changed daily from blue to hazel to brown and then back again.  But for the last two weeks they've been steadily blue.  Mom thinks they are going to stay blue.  Dad isn't sure. 

To give you an idea, Mom's eyes are blue and Dad's are brown.  Grandma Sara has hazel eyes and Grandpa Riad has brown.  Grandma Pat has hazel eyes, and Grandpa Ken has blue.  Both Uncle Philippe and Aunt Heather have blue eyes.  What do you think?  Let me know in my poll!

I am truly getting to be an expert at holding up my head!  I can hold my head up for quite a while now, and enjoy being able to raise up from Mom's shoulders and look around.  Sometimes that big orange kitty sits behind Mom and I can look at her. 

I have also been practicing trying to hold the bottle when Mom and Dad feed me.  My hands are a little small and it is a little heavy for me yet, but practice makes perfect!  Besides, it keeps Mom and Dad from taking it away from me until I am finished. 

Can you believe it?  I am 3 weeks old today!  It seems like just yesterday I was entering the world... but now I am eating well and filling those diapers right and left.  I am starting to notice dangling toys and lights and I particularly like watching the ceiling fans.  I'm growing so well.

We've had a hard couple of days.  My tummy has been upset, I think because Mommy and Daddy have been giving me some formula supplements.  We are working on trying to figure out what does and doesn't work for these feedings so my tummy doesn't get so sore.  In the meantime, I've been somewhat fussy and unhappy. 

Check back soon because Mommy is going to put up some new pictures of me at 3 weeks old.  Also, my next doctors appointment is on March 20, so we will have an update on weight and height by then.

Mom says I'm getting pretty good at lifting my head on my own and looking around.  Before long I'm going to be a pro at it!  Since I already turn to sleep on my sides most nights, I bet it won't be long before I can turn over onto my belly.  Then crawling is right around the corner and freedom will be mine!  The first thing I'll do is catch that cat that keeps stealing my bed...
