Hehehehe, I always wonder who looks at this totsite and when. So today when I logged on to do this update, I looked at the information to see who has been here. The site lied to me, Lies!!!! It says everyone on the list was here on Saturday. mmmm no, I dont think so I know that is not the case......

Ok so anyway, nothing to exciting. Katie is just doing new things every day. Did I say how much she loves Signing time?? Hah, I even found a fan page on Facebook for it. She is doing new signs and saying new things each day. Loves it!!! Here is something humorous. When I first started showing her the signing time videos at around 9 or 10 months, the beginning song would make me have tears. I have no clue why but it did, for a long time this went on, each time I put on the video. So today she is watching the new video that is the abc video. In the middle of the video, Rachel, signs and sings the abc's and yep, tears again. To make this even better, the first time she watched the Signing time about the farm animals, Katie looked at me with tears and was upset when it ended. Wanted to play it again. Just thought I would share this with you guys!

Katie loves to play with the 9 year old girl next door and I can not explain how excited she gets to see her. She enjoys playing with her friends also, especially Emma.

Today she is modeling her sunglasses for us and she puts them on correctly! So cute!

Katie is doing so many things. She wants to put a diaper on her animals. She is saying some things and signing them or just saying them. Elmo, Dada (all the time) dat (cat) signs milk now but does not say it, signs apple, banana, cereal, cookie (important one) and I have to think about what else. She says bye Daddy all the time.

She has new sign video well a couple of them. When she watched one of them, she looke at me at the end and had tears and was upset it was over. (I updated her wishlist on the ones she does not have)

On occasioan, when she wakes up frome her nap, she is knows to not let me get her out of her crib after a nap and wont then she does not let me put pants on her after changing her. ITs getting chilly, she needs pants on! She is on a schedule for her nap know and that makes the day easier to plan something. She went to the schedule fairly easy for both her nap and night time bed.

She loves gymnastics still and she even likes to watch it on TV. She likes Dancing with the Stars also. Its cute to watch her watch it. She wants them to dance move when they are done.

She eats chicken and always has,  but not ground beef or ground turkey, port or meat?? She ate them as baby food but I have not been able to get her to try any of them otherwise. She does eat well usually. Cottage cheese, green beans, broccoli, carrots, tortilla, salsa, spaghetti, eggs, fresh apples, oranges and more. She is not big on eating sweets. She always asks for a cookie but i tell her lots of things are cookies and she eats them.

Halloween was a fun time for her. On Halloween she was a pumpkin.  She really enjoyed going to the houses and seeing decorations outside and costumes and trick or treating. She would not say trick or treat or even try. I did take her to a Halloween party. As soon as we got there, she wanted her costume off to play. Well then Naomi came in, dressed as Elmo. Katie just stared and her jaw dropped to the floor. Naomi decided to take off her costume, so of course now Katie is elmo and puts it on. So happy.!!! I will try and post the pictures. we like to eat her candy. She loved the pumpkin patch, we must have gone about 6 times or so!!

She loves to play with everything and copy anything Daddy and mommy do.  I played with the socks when folding laundry so next she wants socks on her hands like puppets too, it was so cute!!

So many things she does. I will try to think of more. Will try to get pictures posted also! 

I am sure you will all be able to chuckle and laugh. Katie is not as interested today in the potty. It goes off and on, when she is interested it more to play I think. So last night she wanted to go potty and I  took her in and got her pants off. She would not sit on the potty, she kept shaking her head no, then she stood there and laughed at me and peed on the floor. This is not the first time. So my guess is I just keep introducing it too her and she is just not ready yet. A little too young.

Grandma Anne, she needs a bath robe, can you make one? Is that easy? I updated her amazon wish list if anyone  is needing information on what she needs.

Will update more later. I heard her say uh-oh, she says that a lot now.

Katie went pee in her potty!!!

I can not believe it is October and I have a 17 1/2 month old! Other friends are getting ready to celebrate the childs 1st or 2nd birthday and I can not believe these kids are that old already!! Wow time flies.

Katie is fantastic. Super cute and sweet and curious. She is growing and gets smarter everyday. Several things to mention, so lets see what I remember.

As I said, Katie is in a gymnastics class. So fun, she enjoys it. Its not a super structured class just a chance to do some things, but she enjoys rolling around on the floor and walking on the balance beam on the floor and stuff. They do a circle time songs and parachute playing. She is too interested in the other stuff to do much. She does sort of stand and watch as people do the circle time songs, then she does her own thing. For the parachute, they pull it out and play with it, then shake it, then have the kids on it and slide in the middle as the parents walk with it and stuff. She won't do it and will cry. Some people let their kid stay in it and cry but I can not do that so I let her out and she can do whatever. They play where you go under it also, Katie watches from a distance. The other things they have, she enjoys. Just like the gymnastics you see the gymnasts do, but mini size. She has another 5 or 6 classes of that so its great to get her out to do it. She also loves trains. Not sure what it is about kids and trains but she loves them. I need to find her a train to play with but they are not easy to find. I am thinking it would be fun to do a train around the christmas tree each year if I can find a nice one. The neighbor has one but got it about 10 years ago, so I need to look for one. Apparently the age Katie is, is a great time to keep playing with the stacking cups so she learns to stack them and the blocks, so I need to pull those pieces all together so she can play with those.

She is about 22-23 lbs now. Dont know exactly as she does not sit still. I weighed her at the vet on the scale the dogs stand on and then at the doctor office, but she does not stay still long enough to get an exact weight. Figures! Her feet are growing a little. We have several size 5 shoes but just like everything, each brand is different. Some she fits in and some are too small. She should be able to wear the rain boots Bobby and Jade sent last year, this year. She can wear shoes grandma Anne and Grandpa Dan gave her, they are cute little pink converse shoes. Oh that reminds me there is a jacket that the Madsen grandparents gave her in the closet. Need to pull it out. Grandma Anne made a bunch of clothes for Katie last year. We are on the second pair of overalls, they are cute. Katie has a few things I pulled out from grandma Anne but thats all thats left that will fit her. Yep grandma, you can make more things now. (size 2t or up, just make according to the seasons) There are some super cute hats that will still fit her though. Katie is wearing a mixture of sizes from 12 months up to 2T. right now the 12-18 month stuff is great and the 18 month stuff if great too. Not sure how long that will last, probably 6 months for the 18 month stuff but who knows. Tops are 18 months and 2t but pants are 12-18 months, she is skinny, but tall. Anyway........

Katie loves to play with everything. Her toys, our stuff and everyones stuff. She really enjoys playing with the neighbor gal, Jillian, who is 9 and the other one that is 6, Jennifer. Today Katie will get to play with her new car if she ever gets up from the nap she is taking. It is actually not new, just new to her. someone was throwing it in the garbage so we asked if we can have it. It is fine and just missing a few stickers, she will love it. She loves playing outside but I do not like the cooler weather so much. She loves the park and I have to spell it unless I plan to actually go there or she knows what it is. She knows everything we are saying and understands so we spell a lot. She will know how to spell things before she is 3! (its good for the neighbor girl though, since then she has to spell also) Of course as I said, Katie is still doing signs and adds another everytime she watches the videos. (I need to get her another) She is now saying the words to some of them as she signs them. She rambles long sentences to us all the time. Shannon and I are baffled at what she is saying but she is telling us something.

As for things she eats, lots of things and lots of the same things. Spaghetti is a favorite, grapes and broccoli and green beans. she started eating cottage cheese again. I want to add things to what she eats but she wont try some things. So any suggestions on what to add, send them over.

She is up, yay. Going to take her out to play and take pictures. Hope to post them in the next couple days!

Katie is watching Sesame street so I will see if I can get this done quickly. Katie turned 17 months old on Saturday Sept 26th. Then all of a sudden lots of words start coming out. Bubble, Kitty, water and others that I can not think of right now. So instead of signing bird, she signs it and says it. Of course Dada is one of the most common ones to hear from her. She is pointing out shapes in books and a little on colors. She is just learning and changing each day. She also climbs on everything. Wants to stand on chairs and sofa and I catch her climbing on the coffee table all the time. (thats what I have to keep watching for while typing) She has all but 4 teeth so a full mouth of teeth. Brushing them is another story, she lets me on occasion, otherwise she wants to and she does not brush, she sucks on the toothbrush. She does eat well. Lots of spaghetti, grapes, broccoli, bananas, strawberries and so much more. She is really enjoying her gymnastic class which is great since she is in it until mid november. What else do you want to know?

I will try to get what I can in the update. See if I can get it done while Katie is occupied. She is so busy all the time. She just had a visit with Grandpa Dan and Grandma Anne. The first 2 days I was not around. I know one of the days they went over to Tilden park and rode the steam train. Everyone enjoyed that. Hopefully when the Madsen grandparents get home they will email some of the pictures so I can post them on the totsite. Katie loves trains. She signs train and truck all the time. So I bet they had a blast.

Katie now has 12 teeth!! Yes that many have been coming in. She seems to be doing ok with it. She chews her fingers and wakes up at night crying about it sometimes. Today they seem to have calmed down, no finger chewing so far and thats a good sign. Maybe she will get a break.

Katie is very cuddly now. She likes to get up in the morning and cuddle and sit with Daddy. Daddy loves this because she is so still and cuddly and not squirmy.

She still loves to be outside. She does enjoy the morning inside watching Sesame Street or Signing Time. Next week she will start a gymnastic class 1 time a week. I hope she likes it.

Not sure what else. I love the comments people leave hear, wish more of you left comments. Ask me questions also so I can post something else you might want to know about.

Katie is growing, exploring and doing so many things. She has her 4th molar coming in and one other tooth. Last night was the first night I was successful in her letting me brush her teeth. She brushed mine, nearly gagging and choking me. While I brushed her teeth. She did a great job. She loves to brush her teeth, she tells me she wants to all the time, but she does not actually brush them, just suck on the brush. She will not let us do it usually, its a huge ordeal and she screams and screams so this was very exciting to have happen. Its just like the bath ordeal. She loves to take a bath, loves to have the water running. She is ok when i turn it off. However, she wont sit in the bath. So she started liking to read her bath book and suddenly she will sit in the bath to read her book or have you read it to her. I really need to get her another bath book!!! This is great to have her sit. So the next thing I am actually thinking about buying is what I keep seeing on tv. Katie is so smart and loves her books. They keep showing "your baby can read" infomercials. Well it is doing the trick and getting me to want that. So I might buy it for her. Its cheap (I think) and hey, why not have Katie learn to read and such early?  Ok the other thing Katie has done was this morning. I had never seen her do it, but Shannon had. (thats a switch, usually I see what she does, then shannon does) anyway.... she got up on her rocking horse all by herself. She was so proud looking. Then she did the other thing she started with me last night. She signed more, because I took her picture. Every time I take the camera out and take her picture, she wants me to take more and is becoming such a ham for the camera. ITs cute. So yes, expect more silly pictures. Ok, gotta go run!
