Growing so fast

I used to secretly think it was silly when parents of my children talked about how "fast they grow." I mean, of course they grow quickly, but I did think they were being a bit overdramatic at times about it.
And then Allana came into our lives, and it was a bit of "God-smack" for me. I am breathless sometimes when I realize that a whole year is gone. Every day is a new adventure with our precious daughter. I know now that every parent must feel this way, but when it's your own...wow. I do know that being a parent has made me a better, more compassionate teacher. 
The new developments at the Davis home this week include Allana brushing her hair, blowing kisses with a loud "Mwah!" sound (check out the videos), dancing her booty (we're still trying to catch that on video!), saying "amen" at the end of the blessing, saying "Hey!" loudly to you if you're not paying attention to her, and walking across the living room only if you don't prompt her!
She is such a joy...
