We're back to reality here in Wake Forest.  After a fabulous week at home in Alabama, we returned to North Carolina just in time for Dan & I to steal a night away at a bed and breakfast for our anniversary.  Our friends Dwight and Stacee kept Lana for us, and we're keeping their kids this week while they have a night away.  (Thank goodness for good friends!)  

We had an amazing time together, just reconnecting after our busy summer, and now we're back to the grind!  Dan is busy registering for classes, making sure his paperwork is in order, and trying to figure out how to pay for those books!!  I'm looking ahead to this year in preschool, and trying to really soak up these last few weeks of summer with Lana.  It occurred to me the other day that if we start trying for another baby anytime soon, then this will be the last summer that she and I have alone together.  I am so excited about adding to our family eventually, but it makes me cry to think of sharing my time with her.  Giving Lana a sibling is truly a gift to her, but I am so selfish...she is my precious firstborn, and I can't imagine a life that doesn't include me focusing most of my daytime time and energy on her.  The Lord has so much work to do in my life, doesn't He?

Please pray for Dan as he readies his heart and mind for this coming semester.  He has learned so much already; pray that he is able to sit under the very best professors possible, and that he will find favor with them as they teach him this semester.
