We have finally decided that we are going to "officially" let Lana's name be - Lana!!! Although her given name is "Allana," we had to make a decision if we wanted to let her go by other or the other. Dan & I always call her Lana, Lana is going to be easier for her to identify and eventually spell, it's easier for others to read & remember, and truthfully, we just prefer Lana! Dan reminded me that when we decided to name her Allana, it was mostly because we love "Lana."
For a while I struggled with the confusion it might cause her to go by Lana when her name is Allana, but then Dan pointed out that LOTS of Jacobs go by Jake, Johnathans go by John, Elizabeths go by Beth, etc. It's a pretty common thing.
So we really took the plunge this weekend and had Kacie monogram some things with "L." You know when you monogram it, it's real!
