May 27-June 2, 2007
A week from now, we will be at home! We are so excited; it's hard to believe we're going to have such an extended vacation with the people we love most in the world! Our itinerary and contact info. are on the home page...please let us hear from you while we're home!
We will be in Daphne for the first week we're home. The second week, we are leaving Lana with Dan's parents and brother and sister-in-law while we go on a cruise for our 5th anniversary. (It's our first time to ever be away from her; I'm not sure how we're going to handle it! We're not worried about her; she's going to have a blast. It's us we're worried about!)
We plan on spending the 3rd week we're home at Dan's parent's condo in Orange Beach, ending with Lana's first birthday party on Saturday, June 23 at 11:00. Please make plans to be there - it's going to be a blast! Wear your bathing suit, bring a towel, and just come hang out. We're going to throw some burgers on the grill, there's a huge gazebo, a big swimming pool, and a 1 foot baby pool for all of Lana's little friends! There's a pier to fish from, so you can bring your fishing pole if you want. The beach is just a short drive away, so if you want to plan to head there before or after the party, you can make a day of it.
Enough about our big trip...Lana had a great week last week!
She visited the eye doctor, Dr. MacPherson. He said her eyes looked perfect, and she is slightly far-sighted, which is what she's supposed to be right now. What we didn't want was for her to be near-sighted like her mommy already!
Just yesterday afternoon she decided she would feed herself! Wow! I was feeding her mashed potatoes with summer veggies, and she kept trying to grab the spoon. I gave it to her with some potatoes on it, she put it right in her mouth, and handed it back to me for more! I put some more potatoes on it, and it went straight in her mouth again! We couldn't believe it. She also had some little pieces of cheese that I had put on her tray for her to pick up...well, she picked up a piece of cheese, and tried to put it on her spoon so she could put it in her mouth. She is such a funny girl!
Speaking of foods, her new favorite foods this week have been macaroni and cheese, mango, vegetarian lasagna, and whole wheat toast. We are having the best time letting her try all different kinds of foods! (No refined sugars, yet, though...not until her cake at her first birthday party!)
